In honor of Jersey Shore’s season premiere last night. Who watched it?

T.I. – Yeah Ya Know (Takers)(4 stars)

Hip-Hop, Videos | July 25th, 2010

When I was a Freshman, I once had dinner with Project Pat and Lil Wyte. It was perhaps the most awkward experience of my life. A friend had hired them for a show in Dallas, and he was scheduled perform at a party later that night. As expected, we took so long at dinner that we were running late for the performance. Plus, everyone had been drinking too much (including Project Pat). So we closed our tab out at dinner after what felt like days. Project Pat’s manager had their car there, and they couldn’t drive because they were so drunk. So, they said, “Yo, we need you to drive us to the venue”. Of course, I complied. The whole ride over was project pat talking on his bluetooth (So 2005) awkwardly. When we finally got to the venue, people mobbed us. Did I feel like a rock star? Of course I did. However, they gave a horrendous performance. Moral of the story, don’t ever hire Project Pat or Lil Wyte to perform. They’re a waste of $20,000 and they don’t fulfill their contractual obligations. Fresh New Tracks, sometimes a place where we’re not afraid to call out rappers you know and love.

Matt Clarke- Drink Up
Matt Clarke- Get It Rollin’
Tiesto ft. Kay- Work Hard Play Hard
Yelawolf- Lemonade
Rich Girl ft. Loso and Rick Ross- Swagger Right

Hip-Hop | M.B.4- Finally

Posted by on July 10, 2010

When M.B.4. hits me with a new track, I know what time it is. Last night, Brennan hit me with his first single off his mixtape, “Drunk Days and Crazy Nights” dropping sometime in August. While on 93.1 in Boston last night, M.B.4 gave us a huge shout out. (We’ll get the video up soon) Shout out to The Chemist on the production.

Interviews, Videos | UGK 4 LIFE

Posted by on June 24, 2010

Don’t get me wrong, I love this new wave of hip-hop. I know we post it all the time. I just miss the Pimp some days. He was the realest that ever did it. When I was a freshman in college, I had an opportunity to see UGK perform in Dallas. I waited around until 12:30 and at that time they still hadn’t arrived. For various reasons, I didn’t end up staying and missed out on watching his performance for the very first time. The next week, he passed away. I’ve always regretted that night. Who knew it would be the last time he ever performed in Dallas. Hit the jump for my favorite interview of all time. Shout out to Yara.

Therefore, a few weeks ago we jumped at the opportunity to sponsor and promote his weekly gig at Happy Ending in New York. The details for the show are posted below along with a few Philistine tracks (including two brand spanking new and dope ones). Make sure you attend the premier!

Albums | Dirty Picture Dark Intensity Remix

Posted by on May 4, 2010

We’ve posted several Dark Intensity remixes, but I must say this is by far my favorite. Props to Manny for transforming a mediocre song into a dank techno banger. Last night he was asking me for some vocals and although I didn’t get back to him in time with anything, he was able to complete this track in one night – if I could create a sick track like this in one night my college education might be worth something… We will definitely be posting more of his tracks in the near future. Check Dark Intensity out on facebook here.
