Progressive House | Nicky Romero – Tension (Vocal Mix)
Posted by Middy on April 7, 2012
I love it when prominent artists hit Facebook milestone numbers because they feel a sort of obligation to give back to their fans and free songs is usually how giving back manifests itself. Nicky Romero just hit 100,000 Facebook fans and as promised he has provided his fans with a little present to his fans. Nicky Romero gave out two great techy tracks for the new year with Fedde le Grand, so this is not new to him. The track starts with an easy piano melody and builds with a rising synth and vocals that will command a crowd into a drop of driving electro house synths and bass. Like him on Facebook if you haven’t already to speed up the process to the next freebee and be ready for “Metropolis” on Wednesday.
DJ-Set, Electro-House | Nicky Romero – Toulouse (Remixes)

What better way to start the first hour of the first day of Ultra than to have a set from Nicky Romero and to have him premier his new ID, which will be his first song on his label. The track is heavy so be ready.
Here are the the remixes for Nicky Romero’s massive hit “Toulouse”, a city that has been in the news lately for all the wrong reasons. The good people here are tough and will come out stronger than ever. We look forward to his show on the 5th. The Tommy Trash remix keeps much of the original track with the build remaining largely the same and then in the drop Tommy Trash adds his own flavor, stripping away the driving synths and adding his own percussive elements to it, perfect for the festival environment. Chocolate Puma keeps much of the original song as well because it was so good, but makes the build a little softer with some additional percussive elements and an added kick and a shaker sound to the drop. The original is a classic, but these two are still quite good, with Tommy Trash doing the best work on this massive track. His collaboration with David Guetta “Metropolis” will be released on Monday, April 2nd. After the jump is a superb half hour mix Nicky Romero made for Sirius XM during his time down in Miami during WMC with unreleased tracks “Nicktim” and the aforementioned “Metropolis”.

Electro-House | Nicky Romero – Se7en (Original Club Mix)
Posted by Middy on March 12, 2012
Nicky Romero has been on fire this year with his Acid banger “Generation 303“, his collaboration with David Guetta “Wild One Two” and now “Se7en”, his single from the Cr2 Records Miami Compilation album. This song was made over a year ago, but just never got a proper release, so if elements of the song sound familiar, relax and know it was made a while ago. The songs builds with quick percussion that moves into a some big room synth chords and then the drop hits with grimy electro house synths, pitched synths and a driving bass line. This is a song you will not want to miss from the Dutch Star who is only going to grow in influence with “Metropolis” releasing soon and “Nicktim” getting a release sometime not too far in the future we hope.

Progressive House | Jack Back feat. David Guetta, Nicky Romero & Sia – Wild One Two
Posted by Middy on February 14, 2012
Nicky Romero & David Guetta release their latest single together taking apart the single from Flo Rida & Sia “Wild Ones” and making it their ow by revamping the beat and utilizing Sia’s beautiful vocals to perfection. This really should have just been the song in the first place, taking out Flo Rida and taking the song to unseen heights. Nicky Romero & David Guetta construct this instrumental perfectly, incorporating the piano melody from the original track, as well as the vocals from Sia, while adding a sturdier bass line and synth chords that fit perfectly into this song making it dance perfection. It does not become too poppy or too much of a house song, just on the line between the two, so expect to hear this song for quite a while.

Here is a Bonus remix of the original track from the young dutch Dj/producer Vida. This remix has been supported by Hardwell in his 50th Hardwell on Air show, while Vida’s other tracks have been supported by the likes of David Guetta, Nicky Romero, Deniz Koyu & others. This is very good remix with a smooth synth melody to accompany Sia’s stunning vocals.
