Electro-House | R3hab & ZROQ – Skydrop
Posted by Middy on December 17, 2012
R3hab, a name who has been very hit or miss for me this year with the amount of tracks he has put out this year, at points even 4 times in a week. He has so many productions that it is hard to keep up with any one of them and they all seem to blend together. R3hab tabs fellow dutchman ZROQ, who first got his claim to fame for being the man behind “WTF!?” with Nicky Romero, to bring us the final release of the year on Tiesto’s Musical Freedom. “Skydrop” brings together the styles of both of the producers, utilizing the saws that R3hab has become so well known for and the tough electro sound from ZROQ as this song expects to make its way into plenty of festival sets this winter.

Electro-House | Showtek & Justin Prime – Cannonball
Posted by Middy on October 29, 2012
Musical Freedom releases another bomb from Showtek as they continue their crossover several years in the making from hardstyle into more accessible electro house. This track is still very influenced by hardstyle, as evidenced by the bouncy bass line, but the growling undercurrents and big room build makes this track more in line with their recent work and set to do some damage on dance floors worldwide as we get through the fall and into the winter season.
Progressive House | Tiësto & Allure – Pair Of Dice
Posted by Middy on October 8, 2012
Allure used to be one of Tiesto’s many aliases alongside Steve Forte Rio, Passenger and many more. He recently passed on the torch to a different guy after the release of Allure – Kiss from the Past in 2011. It is fitting that the new face of Allure has followed in the footsteps of Tiesto in leaving trance behind and turning towards progressive and electro in his productions. It took me a little while to warm up to the track, but the infectious melody layered grungy synths grew on me, displaying yet again another quality Tiesto production.
Electro-House | Mikael Weermets & Nico De Andrea ft. Yasmeen – I Found You
Posted by Middy on August 27, 2012
Mikael Weermets teams up with Frenchmen Nico de Andrea & the indelible Yasmeen to present his second release on Musical Freedom, following his release with Swedes Bauer & Lanford “Out Of Control“. Yasmeen provides a prominent top line while Weermets and De Andrea go to work putting together a grungy synth layer with a hard clap and big room interludes. Musical Freedom puts out some the highest quality releases we see of the house labels out there, while showcasing some lesser known assets in the industry, much like Tiesto’s radio show, Club Life.

Electro-House | Albin Myers – The Beast
Posted by Middy on August 1, 2012
The title says it all, this song is a beast. Coming off of his “Hells Bells” EP, Albin Myers continues his streak of high octane progressive / electro house tracks with “The Beast”. Albin Myers starts off with a complex, fast moving bass line and progresses into his high energy sound packed with thumping bass and gritty synths. Musical Freedom continues its string of fantastic releases as it solidifies itself as one of the premier dance labels.

DJ-Set, Progressive House | Benji Ft. Sherry St. Germain – Steel Eyes
Posted by Middy on July 12, 2012
Musical Freedom, much like Tiesto likes to pick up and support upcoming artists as seen with recent releases like “Out Of Control” and “All It Takes” and now with a single from talented Canadian producer Benji. Sherry St. Germain provides soothing vocals over an acoustic guitar melody in a build that crescendos into a drop of an uplifting synth melody, a driving clap and a rising synth. Great production overall with cleverly crafted melodies. Also included is a free promo mix done by Benji with some of the latest hits including the aforementioned “Steel Eyes”. Tracklist after the jump.
Bootleg, Progressive House | Mikael Weermets vs. Bauer & Lanford – Out Of Control
Posted by Middy on June 25, 2012
The young Swedes, Mikael Weermets and Bauer & Lanford have combined for this very heavily supported track out now on Tiesto’s Musical Freedom. Beautiful female vocals bring in a smooth break, accompanied by a steady bass driven build of hard claps, accelerating percussion and an easy piano melody that crescendos in a break of uplifting synth melodies and a driving clap. This is a beautiful track worthy of a starry summer night. Also below is Bauer & Lanford’s recent bootleg pack that I feel some of you may like.
