At this point up and coming talent shouldn’t take me by surprise, but every now and again I’m shocked at how easily a little name artist can upstage some of the biggest names in the game. I guess that’s what happens as cheap recording options become increasingly available to the masses. Look out labels, here comes a well armed army of indie artists thats ready to conquer your market share! The featured music video and track from 3rddy offers the bulletproof combo, strong verses and a catchy hook. Simple, yet effective (by the way, what rapper does he remind you of?) Every now and again I’ll hit our fans with some quality reggae tunes. Unfortunately, the production and quality expectations aren’t as high in the Carribean so it’s extremely difficult to find tracks that won’t give our American fans an ear sore. Well we are lucky because our long time brudda, Mark Hardy, keeps pumping out tracks that are mastered in the US. Don’t worry, this doesn’t dilute the authenticity of his Trinidadian flare – just makes it that much more crisp. We dropped this Mark Hardy freestyle over Miguel and J.Cole’s “All I Want Is You” back in November and above is the official music video for it. Here’s the official music video for Dr. Dre’s hit “Kush” which is rumored to be a cut off of his upcoming album, Detox. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, Dre is on the up and up. I’m confident that the album is going to be dope. The only doubt in my mind concerns the actual release date. In 2009 he claimed it would be out in 2010, now he’s saying we’ll see it in 2011. Lets just pray we end up seeing it during our lifetime.

When I’m looking for songs, I always look for original content. While digging through Ryan Leslie’s archives earlier, I came across this little unreleased gem. This is the long awaited and quietly released music video for “Never Gonna Break Up” which was off his album Transition. I think everyone literally missed the boat on the release. Illtellect x Kiddrae recently teamed up to shoot an awesome video for their Fall 2010 line. The video was shot in Dallas and stars Leon the Professional and his lovely lady.
