The MC from Orlando, Caskey dropped his much anticipated mixtape “The Transient Classics” today, along with huge visuals to the first track “Too Much Information.”  I believe with this video you will be seeing a lot of more of Caskey, he’s on another level as an artist. So far my favorite tracks off the mixtape are “Seen Some Thangs” featuring Rittz , and “Alec Baldwin” featuring Riff Raff, who always delivers with the lines: “Aww shit who it is, the white Lil Wayne!” Download his mixtape, peep the video, and wish Caskey a happy 21st birthday! Shout out to the Avengerz and Myles William for top notch productions! Must Listen and Must Download! Get that mixtape!

DO SOMETHING

Hip-Hop | Accent — Careless (feat. Hunter Stout & Lyric Lincoln) [Prod. DJ Grumble]

Posted by on August 24, 2013

Accent is back and as lyrically sharp as he’s ever been, teaming up here with vocalists Hunter Stout and Lyric Lincoln (who we previously heard on Dylan Owen’s “The Window Seat”) for this upbeat breakup jam. Armed with an uptempo, sample-laden beat from DJ Grumble and a catchy hook, Accent takes the track the extra mile rhyming three 8-bar verses with more rhyme-schemes at work then most artists can muster in twice the space. His new mixtape, With A Little Help From My Friends II (see Kinetics’ part one here), is due out this fall, and is guaranteed to continue to merge his advanced lyricism with some more aesthetically-pleasing soundscapes.

Albums, Electronic, Mashups, Mix | The Hood Internet – Trillwave 3

Posted by on August 14, 2013

Ahhhhhhh could not be more excited to share the latest release from The Hood Internet. So they’ve got this thing called Trillwave, which is basically a seamless, sensual, and poetic synthesis of popular hip hop vocals over chill, indie instrumental counterparts that make you wonder, Why weren’t these jams paired up before…? And the third installment of Trillwaves does not disappoint. MISHKA really hit the nail on the head by describing Trillwave as the type of mixtape for “when you have to entertain a mixed crowd, or if you need to take a long drive with someone who doesn’t worship at a temple for 808s for church bells.” And, in accordance with the rising trend, Trillwave 3 features quite a few subtle tributes to the sweet and sexy R&B of the 90’s. Oh, radical baby.

You can, and absolutely should, download the previous Trillwaves straight from The Hood Internet’s website here. And catch the tracklist after the break, especially my favorite pairings including Kanye West vs Daft Punk, Miguel vs RL Grime and Kendrick, Drake, and Giraffage.

Hip-Hop, Mixtapes | PropaneLv – Letter To The Industry (Mixtape)

Posted by on July 22, 2013

Letter To The Industry Cover Art

3 million views after randomly deciding to do a remix to Justin Bieber’s “Boyfriend”, Portland’s own PropaneLv drops off a formal mixtape of some of the best remix efforts in hiphop in the last year. Taking the traditional mixtape route, Lv comes together with HipHopEarly’s official DJ, DJ Reddy Rell, to drop the project. With the YouTube remix/cover/rendition lane a popular one in today’s industry, it’s done exactly what it needed to for Lv: solidify his talent and draw attention to his potential. On that note, he is very adamant that his debut album will be an eye opener this fall.

Varsity Blues drops September 30th.
