Melbourne indie/electro-pop producer, Emerson Long, just shared his latest single, “Heatwave”. The first of many planned by the producer in 2016, “Heatwave” is moving and emotional, featuring beautiful vocals with melodic synths. Emerson put it perfectly when he said, “This track was based around a relatively simple idea of meeting someone a little bit special…I just want ‘Heatwave’ to be something people can come together and have fun with…Something that can add a little touch of summer to your life.” Given the freezing temperatures outside right now, I’m sure we can all use a ‘touch of summer’. Warm yourselves up, and check out the track now!

Melbourne Bounce | The Chainsmokers – #SELFIE
Posted by Mel on January 29, 2014
At long last, the first original label release by The Chainsmokers is finally out. What started as a joke for one of their shows in December, eventually became what it is now. “#Selfie” is a melbourne bounce track that is very unique because it features a girl talking about stuff, stupid stuff. It’s hilarious. Only kind of though but it is clear who this song was made for, and that would be middle aged urban males. Or young white girls. The song is quite the departure from their typical style and even though it is a little gimmicky, it’s also an entertaining song with a pretty good drop. As you can probably guess, the music video consists of a whole lot of fan submitted selfies as well as the girl narrating as she gets ready or something. The girl actually looks exactly like I imagined she would from her voice, perfect. Just kidding she’s alright (8?/10). If you care enough to do so, I’m sure they would appreciate you purchasing the track on iTunes.

Electro-House | DCUP – Magic
Posted by mimada on December 5, 2013
You know what the best feeling in the world is? Well, one of them, for that matter – when you’re mood and inspiration starts to plateau and then all of a sudden you hear a song that, within seconds, gets your blood rushing again. It’s 1:15pm and I was already three cups of coffee deep and couldn’t seem to shake the zombie feeling when I stumbled upon DCUP’s latest release, “Magic.” I’m a little out of touch with the American audience at the moment (it’s snowing over here in Sweden for the first time so I’m kind of out of touch with everything, tbh) but I think this Melbourne-based producer has been sneaking by, under appreciated and that needs to change. Actually, you might remember DCUP from “We No Speak Americano” back in the day, and you’ll recognize some of those funky latin vibes in “Magic.” But give this one a spin, it’s a bit of a 80’s groove, Duck Sauce-esque, touch of house cocktail with an Australian twist. Just what you need to spice things up.
