Mayo’s back with a Summer banger “Rock With You” and it’s silky smooth. Produced by Milo Mills, “Rock With You” has a bounce to it that you just can’t not feel, and I know this one is going to connect with the ladies, and the fellas for that matter, especially all of your Drake lovers. I have to admit this is my first time listening to Mayo, and lately I’ve been skeptical when it comes to hip hop, as jazz productions and monotonous weird flows are just becoming redundant, and boring, so it’s always refreshing to hear a rap song that I can cruise to with my girl by my side. This is def a must listen!

It’s not every day you get Pitbull, Juicy J, and Cee Lo on a track, but of course when you’re DJ Felli Fel one of the most influential radio DJs of our time, that’s just another day in the life, and they’re all ready to “Have Some Fun.” On some infectious level, I’m out here belting out the hook, channeling my inner Cee Lo, you already know my co-workers love it. Matter of fact, I’m willing to bet “I want to have some fun” is going to be the tag line when you get that text message “What do you want to do tonight?” F’it, let loose, this is a must listen!
Hip-Hop, Rap | Cozz – Dreams (Video)
Posted by admin on March 11, 2014
Cozz, the newest offspring of the mighty land known as Los Angeles, has waged a full on war against Nissin brand Top Ramen. “Imagine if I stopped rhymin’ and settled for Top Ramen…” the emcee ferociously spits; speaking as if the superb taste and value of the Asian noodle soup is something to be eaten begrudgingly.
In all seriousness, I was quite awe-struck when I first stumbled upon the video for “Dreams”. The conviction and intensity that Cozz packs in to each line is not to be trifled with, nor is it something that one can fake. It is clear that the West-Coast upstart is determined to make these dreams of his a reality, no matter the costs.
Although I’m usually one to let the music speak for itself and leave the statistics at home, it’s important to note the 8,000 plus views that “Dreams” has accrued as his first ever released song, in a single week. I have high hopes for what is next out, and I’m sure you’ll be seeing it up on Fresh New Tracks once again, hopefully accompanied by some more pointless rambling about cheap soup.
Hip-Hop | Choo Jackson – Windows
Posted by VMan on February 20, 2014
Choo Jackson releases visuals for “Windows” directed by ElephantxElephan, off his forthcoming sophomore project “Slightly Dark.” The 23-year-old Pennsylvania native is signed to Mac Miller’s REMember Music label, and preaches on this one with a “smooth like leather” flow. The life of an up and coming rapper is not easy, you really have to believe in yourself no matter what everyone else tells you, and Choo expresses this on his record. We believe in you Choo, your window of opportunity is open and at reach. This is a must listen and look out for his upcoming project!

Everytime I check up on Rockwell Knuckles he has something new, and today he released the “David Ruffin Theory,” a collaborative mixtape with Tef Poe, and you shouldn’t sleep on it. From being songwriters, lyricists, and entertainers, Rockwell and Tef can do it all, and showcase this on their project with witty hooks, dope flows, and epic beats. I’m still on my first play of the mixtape, and I’m loving it so far, ya’ll should check out the visuals for the lead single “Head Full Of Smoke.” I sincerely hope we see more of these 2 in 2014, they deserve it, only a matter of time till they get a radio hit! Rap | Christian Deshun – Unsung
Posted by VMan on November 20, 2013
NWLA MC Christian Deshun aka Christian Dee La releases his latest self-produced track “Unsung” off his upcoming mixtape Subtle Weekends. “Unsung” is Christian spitting his unspoken thoughts over a minimalist new age beat. This Louisiana rapper’s flow is unlike any other flow you’ve ever heard, and I’m not saying this just to say it, I mean it. If you like rap music with substance, consider yourself served, you’re going to want to keep tabs on this guy: he spits real shit. It’s only a matter of time till he blows up, and gets the recognition he deserves. This is a must listen!
