Electro-House | FNT Premiere: Twenty One Pilots – House Of Gold (Bimbo Jones Remix)
Posted by Middy on February 11, 2014
UK electro / pop trio Bimbo Jones have gotten a stellar reputation for their remixes. This time they have been tabbed by Fueled By Ramen to take on twenty one pilots latest tune “House Of Gold” that is now top 10 on the alt radio in the US. The trio work their magic on “House Of Gold”, keeping much of the vocals, and then adding poppy synth chords with intermittent beefy low end growls that give the tune an aggressiveness not found in the original. Other remixes are to come from Denzal Park, Maor Levi & Mike Hawkins. No release date, but stay tuned for that.

Stream the remix exclusively here until the full release of the entire package alongside others from Maor Levi, Gorgon City, Will K, Ivan Gough & Jebu Dub this Monday the 21st.
Progressive House | Pierce Fulton ft. Polina – Where We Were

Pierce Fulton is back with yet, another great single. Tabbing vocalist Polina, who boasts tracks like Afrojack, Kaskade, Tiesto and Michael Woods, she provides a female top line the track seemed to need. Pierce does his magic with a soaring melody and rolling bass line, adding his first single to his discography since the uplifting “Wanna Be” with Maor Levi back in April.

Trance | BT – Skylarking (ilan Bluestone Remix)
Posted by Middy on June 11, 2013
BT is known for his cinematic, orchestral arrangements that stem from not only his scoring of movies, or his live “laptop symphonies”, or how he writes out songs freehand on paper, like an old-fashioned classical composer, but also how he molds melodies and harmonies over long periods of time.
BT recruits two of Anjunabeats‘ finest over to fellow trance label, Armada Music to give him two remixes for his recent single “Skylarking” off of his upcoming artist album “A Song Across Wires“, set for release August 16th. ilan Bluestone has been a name on the rise with singles like “Sinai” and “Capetown” both receiving high praise, while his upcoming single with Jerome Isma-Ae “Under My Skin” has already received support from the rank and file top trance DJs. ilan Bluestone does not mess with the winning formula presented by BT, simply adding his own melodic charm to the track with a churning low-end and a bigger melody that makes this remix more suitable for the live arena, having been played out by the likes of Armin, Tiesto and more. You can also catch the Maor Levi remix on the package, which goes for a more gritty electro feel, but the ilan Bluestone remix really stands out.

Progressive House | Pierce Fulton & Maor Levi – Wanna Be
Posted by Middy on April 12, 2013
Mark Brown’s Cr2 Records has been a friendly home for many of Pierce Fulton‘s releases throughout his young, and burgeoning career. This collaboration with Israeli producer and Anjunabeats regular, Maor Levi, is the first original release for Pierce since his two track “Mr Mime / Sink Or Swim” EP, while Maor Levi takes a break from his impressive gauntlet of remixes to release his first original of the year. “Wanna Be” combines the best of both producer’s worlds, delving into Maor Levi’s trance roots and combining them with the eclectic sensibilities of Pierce Fulton with atmospheric breaks, cheery, pitched female vocals and a smooth top line. The club mix takes an edgier approach, making it more suitable for live sets.

While Anjunabeats Volume 9 seemed to have a noticeable difference between the two CDs, the landmark 10th volume found a way to make it seem as though there was no distinction between the two CDs and created a smooth, uplifting journey that transcends traditional genre barriers and shows the direction of Above & Beyond’s flagship label into the future as one that is forward thinking and defies labels. The compilation features tracks from familiar faces on the label like Maor Levi, Norin & Rad, Andrew Bayer, Jaytech, Arty, Oliver Smith and Kyau & Albert, while giving the chance for many others to shine on this 2 CD, 30 track album.
