This mix absolutely absurd. It is all three of them in the studio sitting in for the legendary Pete Tong during his Friday night Essential Mix. They do the essential tunes section of it, in which they play the much anticipated Swedish House Mafia & Knife Party Collaboration called “Antidote” (UPDATED with radio rip), this song is searing hot. They also go on to play new tracks from Thomas Gold, Dirty South and Those Usual Suspects, Matisse & Sadko vs Arty possibly and more. They do talk a lot and this can be annoying if you want 2 hours of music to rage to, but you also get to know them as people better and they are actually kind of funny together. The last section is called “Swedish House Mafia vs. Swedish House Mafia”, where they play tracks from up and coming stars such as Thomas Gold and Alesso, as well as playing their favorite chill tracks. House | Kaskade Essential Mix

Kaskade is an absolute boss, that is a fact. Last night he played his first ever essential mix on BBC’s Radio One with Pete Tong and absolutely killed it. Fresh off of being voted the number one DJ in America and deservingly so, his essential mix encompasses everything that is his melodic, euphoric, big room sound, and more. It is packed with hit after hit and is mixed perfectly from song to song. I was a bit disappointed he did not debut another song from his upcoming CD “Fire and Ice” for his first essential mix, but he did play “Turn it Down”, the song he has been playing on Identity Festival with vocals from Rebecca and Fionna. Wow, this is interesting. I’m still trying to determine what Bieber’s goal was with this song, but perhaps he was just dying to link up with his fellow Canadian superstar. I don’t hate it, but I certainly don’t love it – largely because Bieber doesn’t spice things up as much as I would have liked. None the less, this is a must listen…

As DJ Fergie Ferg pointed out in an email last week, we’ve been longtime fans of his work and, yet, after all of this time we’ve failed to truly link up on a project. Well, he sure knows how to make an entrance because I don’t think I could hand pick better songs than the ones posted below. And how could we resist turning these two tracks into a FNT mini-mixtape. I’m a sucker for Beach Boys and I’m a sucker for old school Jay Z, so naturally “Good Vibrizzos” is my favorite cut.

That Spencer & Hill preview is such a tease for what will be an amazing song releasing August 2. Stars Above continues to create tracks that have that smooth summer vibe to them. The synth and bass just keep you going throughout the song with a smooth balance of builds and drops.
