House | Lift Off #005

Posted by on October 16, 2012

We are back with the 5th edition of Lift Off. Me and w8 have provided you with a bevy of quality tracks, the vast majority of them being free — something I know you all love so much. So without further ado get right into it because your ears have work to do. The Hardwell supported, Dannic remix of HELENA’s track with Mr. Wilson “Girl From The Sky” gives us his take on the track, bolstering the melody by giving synths a fuller body and more anthemic feel. The vocal has been released for free, so DJs go for it.

Betatraxx and Morten Breum combine on “Get Static” the first single on Betatraxx’s “Mercury” EP that combines a whole host of different styles from heavy electro to more more subtle piano and string builds. This superb production provides a breath of air with its eclectic sounds.

Primacy Funk gets a two spot on the 5th edition of Lift Off, first with this track that utilizes blissful chords to create this feel good track.

Next up we have the enigmatic Russian Erik Taylor better known to the world as Archie, who has of late failed in some aspects to live up to lofty expectations set by his early productions, but this time he switches it up a little combining guitar with his signature Archie sound.

Next we get into bit more of an emotive melody from Lars, combining infectious vocals with a superb piano melody.

House, Progressive House | Lift Off #004

Posted by on September 22, 2012

Finally, we are back with another edition of Lift Off. We have a whole host of free gems from some good up and coming producers, more than usual, as well as some recent label tracks that should be added to your collection if they haven’t already. We start off with Tom Staar & Kryder and their heavily suported remix of “Can’t Stop Me Now” from Afrojack & Shermonology. Tom Staar was responsible for the festival favorite “African Drop” remix and with the duo teaming up for a “Don’t You Worry Child” remix, keep an eye for these two.

iTunes: Afrojack & Shermanology – Cant Stop Me (Kryder & Tom Staar Vocal Mix)

Next up we have a remix from New York native Odmark who puts together a delectable, funky nu-disco of this solid Mr Fluff track, giving us yet another reason to love the flavor of the year in nu-disco.

Young Australian producer, Walden has become a name to watch with his “In My Mind” remix becoming a staple in many sets across the world and a plethora of other free tracks raising his artist profile. His first release on Big Beat, “Warmonger” continues his rise to success with a churning progressive house track that takes a while to build, but once it gets there, you won’t be disappointed.

Following the Vicetone remix of Sparks, FNT regular, Moore, decided to take a stab at it as well, displaying his progressive proficiency taking a more easy going, piano driven approach to the track.

Spektrem in just their 3rd release have really come together to make a gem of a track with an incredibly addictive melody with vocals that create a superb harmony with the uplifting melodies. Read on for plenty more free gems.

Electro-House, Progressive House | Lift Off #003

Posted by on August 17, 2012

It has been a little while since the last Lift Off, but me and w8 are back with a vengeance this week with a post jam packed with great tracks from some of the most underrated producers out there and some incredible free tracks that labels should be salivating to get their hands on.

Marco V has released his latest track “10PM”, which by the sound of it, would be good at 10pm or at 3am with its big room build and the club oriented breakdown.

Beatport: Marco V – 10PM

Ken Loi delivers on this remix taking the original that was a little bland and adding a grinding electro bit to the drop with an moving piano motif in the build.

Tom Swoon is back with the preview to his remix of Linkin Park – Burn It Down, which you can get right now if you pre-order “Living Things Remixed”. It provides a progressive, melodic side to this dark track that works very well.

This next track is very interesting as it was first previewed I believe intentionally by management as an Avicii fake (pr releases brag about the clicks on the video of the fake), however there is no denying how good this song is.

Beatport: Mr. Black & Blue – Get It On

Synchronice give this great Subfocus track a makeover, keeping the melodic piano build with vocals and turning the break into some heavy electro house bringing the energy up to a whole new level. One of those tracks you will regret not getting.

DO SOMETHING

House | Lift Off #002

Posted by on July 12, 2012

We start things off in the second edition of Lift Off with New York producer duo, Mysto & Pizzi who has garnered some serious remix duties for Kaskade, Avicii now are taking their production to the next level for Swiss producer / DJ EDX. They add more to the melody of the track with a soothing chord progression, accentuating John Williams’ stellar vocals.

Beatport: EDX – Give It Up For Love (Mysto & Pizzi Remix)

Feenixpawl & Ivan Gough add their progressive flare with a drop of a well composed synth melody and a driving bass line to Adrian Lux’s single “Burning” with Dante on the vocals.

Beatport: Adrian Lux ft. Dante – Burning (Ivan Gough & Feenixpawl Remix)

Frenchman Michael Canitrot has released a great new single with Polina on the vocals combining melodic synth chord with growling undertones, creating a powerful and energetic track. TV Noise, known for their song with Julian Jordan, “Oxford” keeps much of the melody, while adding more of an electro house feel to it.

Eitro clarifies his talent with a catchy melody that builds into an abundance of alleviating sounds. Also be sure to watch out for “Love 2.0” coming out August 6th.
