House | Max Vangeli – Last Night Changed It All

Posted by on March 17, 2014

I hope you guys are ready for a monster, cause Max Vangeli just unleashed the force with his tune “Last Night Changed It All,” complete with a video treatment released exclusively on Billboard today. If you’ve been wondering what Steve Angello, 1/3 of Swedish House Mafia, has been up to, you now know, he’s been developing his roster of artists at Size Records. This is a must listen!

Hip-Hop | G-Eazy – Last Night feat. KYLE & Devon Baldwin

Posted by on January 29, 2014

G-Eazy has been dropping singles and videos left and right like it’s h-o-t. Building up to his release of his next project, These Things Happen, we’ve already seen (and heard) some great stuff, like “Far Alone” feat Jay Ant, “Tumblr Girls” feat. Christoph Andersson, which is so reminiscent of that pretty girl typology G-Eazy nails down every time (see: “Waspy”) and my personal favorite, the perfectly produced video for “Almost Famous.” But out of all his recent releases, I chose to highlight “Last Night” because I think it’s the most jam-packed with that good good. Opening with a great feature from fellow up-and-comer Kyle, followed by some of the most angelic vocals we’ve heard from Devon Baldwin to date, and  topped off with contagious catch-phrases such as “Last night was a movie.”

G-Eazy in a nutshell. Catch him on tour here.

There is still a lot to be learned about the relatively new producer behind the Fwdslxsh moniker. From what I’ve gathered  (read: stalked) on the internet he’s a young man based out of London and is affiliated with the Last Night In Paris art collective. In this latest joint, ‘4U’ Fwdslxsh chose to pluck a sample from the ‘Say Yes’ tune by Floetry, he uses it as his center piece, revealing that he spent a majority of his formative years listening to R&B. The influence is apperent in these snappy minimal drum patterns that leave just enough negative space for a lush synth backdrop and a simple key driven melody.  Keep your ears and eyes open for more music from this young elusive producer in 2014.

Electro, Hip-Hop | ELECTRO-HOP | Ian Carey ft Bobby Anthony & Snoop Dogg

God Snoop Dog has completely lost it, his verse on this track is even worse than the one on “California Girls.” Shout out to Ian Sachs, Jeremy Burke, and all of the Sammy Tailgate for partying as hard as FNT does.
