Progressive House | Laidback Luke & Hardwell – Dynamo
Posted by Middy on April 23, 2013
This collaboration came a bit out of left field. Laidback Luke and Hardwell on one track should produce magic, especially at this stage of their careers. Coming off his massive Ultra set, Hardwell brings it back the classic Hardwell sound that catapulted him to fame in 2011 with tracks like “Cobra”, “Encoded” and “The World”. Laidback Luke has also been pretty quiet lately only with the release of “Pogo” bringing him production success recently, as his Dutch sound is imprinted on this track. It may just be me, but with these two talents, this song seems a bit rushed and something is missing to make it great. It is a very good song, but it seems like it could have been better. Also, the virtual DJ air horn is just a bit much.

Progressive House | Henrix – Rock This Dream EP
Posted by Middy on April 9, 2013
Henrix has been nearly unstoppable lately proving himself as a name to watch in 2013, with his Size Records release “Hit It” with fellow Miami producers Digital Lab and GTA still tearing up sets across the globe and leaving its mark as one of the biggest tracks of the year thus far. The EP sandwiches 2 Henrix’s signature driving tracks around another big room room collab with Swedish wunderkid Jakob Liedholm.
“Rock This Dream” has been sitting near the top of the DMC Buzzchart for quite some time now as Laidback Luke reaps the benefits of signing this track that was deemed “not EDM enough” by some labels. The opening vocals from Roland Clark set the tone for a powerful, hard hitting percussive drop that even Laidback Luke is dreaming about. The second collab between Henrix & Jakob Liedholm “Losing My Mind“, takes Jakob Liedholms seemingly inexhaustible ability to create uplifting melodies and pairs it with Henrix’s melodic tendencies, all accentuated by Giuseppe Viola‘s outstanding vocal. “Viral” may get the least buzz on the EP at the end of the day, but do not sleep on this driving track that uses a cheeky sample of “Kashmir” from Led Zeppelin.

We now know that the minimalist festival track will be released February 25th, making it a prime time cut for WMC and Ultra and will round out a great month for Size with “Swoon” coming on Monday. To celebrate the news, Henrix is giving out a free track “Miami Rising” that is a departure from his hard hitting percussion laden beats for a more melodic piano driven track, showing the diversity of his productions. Also after the jump the preview for a new track “All That”, which was premiered on Tiesto’s Club Life last week.

Progressive House | Laidback Luke ft. Majestic – Pogo (Dub Mix)
Posted by Middy on February 6, 2013
One the hardest working men in the business, answering every tweet, giving advice on countless demos a year through the LBL forum, running his own label, producing his own tracks and a packed tour schedule, Laidback Luke starts his 2013 campaign with the his new single “Pogo”. This bouncy track adds another unique offering to the Dutchman’s discography with its addictive rhythm and quick rising key play. A vocal mix is on the way, but for now we can be very content with how the dub mix turned out.
Electro-House, Progressive House | Chuckie & Junxterjack – Make Some Noise (Remixes)
Posted by Middy on December 7, 2012
Dirty dutch master Chuckie gave us the driving, bleepy original and now has assembled some quality talent to remix this great track. It starts with the biggest name Laidback Luke, who unsurprisingly delivers the best remix keeping many of the elements of the original, but giving the drop driving electro synths for a fuller body. GLOWINTHEDARK & Wax Motif give it a trap twist, while Deorro goes along the same path as Laidback Luke, but adds more of a dutch feel to it and gives great variation between both drops. Mastiksoul adds a tribal feel to the track with more percussion and Crookers rounds out the package with a high pitched lead.

One of the few moments I remember from Laidback Luke’s set from Electric Zoo (its not you Luke, its me), was hearing this track drop and wondering what was this outrageous track I was hearing. Chuckie has had a banner year with tracks like the ubiquitous “Who Is Ready To Jump”, “1234″ with Laidback Luke & Martin Solveig “Together” & more. Chuckie tabs Junxterjack on this track that combines the best of what has made Chuckie so successful with the growling electro undertones, while remaining true to dirty dutch with the pounding, pitched drop.
