Ambient, Chill | Listen To DUX’s Cinematic Alien Funk
Posted by VMan on July 1, 2016
When “Diana” by DUX hit my inbox on Tuesday night I was too busy to listen, but I finally got a minute to listen through this morning and I was blown away. Jonah McLean aka DUX is an L.A. native who only has two songs to date, and they’re getting better every listen through. While I enjoy his debut release “Responsible,” last weeks drop “Diana” is my personal favorite due to how calming it is. Staight bad ass vibes, feel like it’d fit in the soundtrack to Drive.

Pretty upset how long this one has been sitting in my inbox, I have been slacking lately. Making his FNT debut with Cocaine Cinderella is Jute$. The Toronto based Jute$ has an extremely unique sound that really connected with me. Despite being mostly a hip hop/ pop/ alternative listener in 2016, back in the day I grew up on a lot of alternative rock/emo/scream music. Jute$ brought back all the feels with Cocaine Cinderella as it reminded me of an eclectic blend of Blackbear, Mod Sun and some of my favorite alternative bands from way way wayyyyy back.

Jenaux is popularly known for his incredible progressive house tracks, so when I got this in my inbox, I have to say I was surprised…but in the best way possible. In his remix of Tritonal’s “Gamma Gamma”, the NYC producer slows it down to 105bpm, while still keeping the same “Jenaux” sound we have come to love. With beautifully executed vocal chops and ethereal build ups, Jenaux’s remix to “Gamma Gamma” is one that’ll keeping your hands waving and your hips moving. Check it out now!

A little late on this one, but was digging in my overflowing inbox and found this gem from 95 Royale. This remix of a classic is not overdone or cheesy and is just what you need for the summer. It’s free, so no excuse not to get it.

Ambient, Electro | Misterwives – Reflections (Gryffin Remix)
Posted by admin on April 27, 2014
This “Reflections” remix graced my inbox a few days back and after the first listen I knew it needed to be shared. However, as it usually does, life got ahead of me and my post slipped from one day to the next to the next. Then, tonight as I perused Hype Machine, staring me right in the face -as any not completed assignment does- was the Misterwive’s name along with the Gryffin remix.
The bouncy deep house sound that Gryffin implores has been a recent trend amongst producers, and combined with the Misterwives angelic vocals the song was a guaranteed success.
Enjoy, download for free, and help it keep ascending the HypeM charts!
