Hip-Hop | Common – Blue Sky

Posted by on October 9, 2011

Common just dropped this track produced by No I.D. which will be on his upcoming album, The Dreamer, The Believer. The album is slated for a November 22nd release. To go with the track, the Chi-Town rapper also dropped the lyric video above which helps helps his powerful lyrics sink in a bit better. Rumor has it that an actual music video is in the works so keep an eye out for that.

Close my eyes and see things in front of me. I’m gone now, imagine what I’m gonna be

Hip-Hop | Yelawolf, Rick Ross ft. Nicki Minaj

Posted by on October 4, 2011

Its tough to picture Yelawolf going in on an RnB track, and I think this is going to be as close as we’ll get to hearing that. That being said, Yela adds a his unique touch to this hook. If you’re turned off by the first few seconds of the track, just hang in there, it gets sick after the drop.

Just from this line alone, this track gets our seal of approval.

Indoor pool, outdoor pool, outdoor court, talkin’ Ray-J moves.

Hip-Hop | Azad Right – The Time Is Right (Mixtape)

Posted by on September 22, 2011

After months of teasing ILL singles like Spiderwebs and Stained, Azad has finally dropped his mixtape, The Time Is Right. With lyricism and depth greater than an overwhelming majority of rappers out there, I have no doubt when I say that this kid is destined to blow up. The majority of this mixtape is food-for-thought, with a couple feel good hits, and smoking tracks tossed in there. Azad raps about a lot of issues that everyone can relate to. If you have yet to check out Azad, treat yourself to this gem of a mixtape below.

Hip-Hop | Fortune Family – Living Dead

Posted by on September 20, 2011

The Fam’ is back from their short recess to follow up on their dope, Rod Stuart sampled track, Young Hearts. Their new track, Living Dead, despite the title, is a laid back track with Hobs murdering the first verse and Reef manning the tail end.

Hip-Hop | Fortune Family – Young Hearts

After too long of a wait, Fortune Fam is finally back and this time they brought some serious heat. On this track Hops uses a sample of Rod Stewart’s Young Turks which is absolutely DOPE. As usual, Reef drops some knowledge on you fools on the first verse and Hops goes in with his signature hard flow on the second and third verses. Support the Fam’ on facebook.

Hip-Hop | Mac Miller – The Miller Family Reunion

Posted by on August 4, 2011

In celebration for getting 700,000 followers on Twitter, the homie Mac Miller dropped this DOPE track produced by Big Jerm with a sweet summer theme to it. I’m loving the Arnold Palmer reference in that first verse.

Hip-Hop | Jazz Cartier- Gold & Girls (And You Can Have)

Posted by on July 15, 2011

Jazz Cartier wet the bed until he was 12 years old. Shortly thereafter, he became an artist. He loves horror movies, beer, and admiring female fingers. He also has a knack for calling out thirsty bitches on his Twitter. Although originally from Toronto, Jazz is currently stationed in Houston where he can be found drinking copious amounts of purple drank on the weekends. Losing Elizabeth, the mixtape, drops August 1st. It’s going to be a hot summer.
