Kylie Minogue - Skirt (GTA Remix)

One of your DJs favorite duos, GTA have joined an outstanding cast of remixers taking on Kylie Minogue‘s recent single “Skirt“, taking it from a radio friendly hit, to a club ready track. In a package with Nom de Strip, Hot Mouth, Switch and others, GTA find a way to stand out once again for their originality and potency as they bring they make the most of this track. Using just the right amount of vocals from Kylie Minogue, the Miami duo add a powerful kick, churching synth chords and booming horns to create a surprisingly powerful offering for the original. The duo, who are in the midst of a tour in Europe with David Guetta and Rihanna, show that even in the midst of mediocrity (Rihanna isn’t so bad), they can still come up with original music.

DJ-Set, Progressive House | Shinedown – Unity (Matisse & Sadko Remix)

Posted by on July 31, 2012

Rising Russian duo, Matisse & Sadko have released their remix of Shinedown’s hit single “Unity” on Atlantic Records. They have a knack for making joyful, uplifting House that does not tire on your ears and this song is no different. Everything from the blissful piano melody to the playful guitar melody accentuating Shinedown’s vocals and a bass line with elements from their remix of “Beating Of My Heart” continues their trend of making big progressive house tracks. Matisse & Sadko have had an outstanding year so far not only with their remixes but also with “Trio” under their belts as well. The future looks as bright as a solar eclipse for these guys, so stay tuned for more from them.

Also included in the package is a heavy Dubstep remix from Liquid Stranger and a Progressive House remix from Steve Lade with a bit of a different sound, though Matisse & Sadko stands alone on this package. Below is their July Promo Mix, which includes some of the best tracks of late July including their “Unity” remix and some upcoming tracks like the massive Redlight – Lost In Your Love, set to release August 6th. Tracklist after the jump.

Electro-House, House | LAZRtag – Let Me See Those Hands (Hot Mouth Remix)

Posted by on July 26, 2012

Hot Mouth, One half of LA Riots, has released his remix of LAZRtag’s single “Let Me See Those Hands” using a distorted hip hop vocal sample that helps carry the percussion based build into a hard drop of horns and pitched synths. This song is a great change of pace from your normal progressive tracks and modern talking / massive pack electro house tunes that I enjoy, but a change from time to time is always good. Check it out on Beatport below with the original mix and a nice Moombahcore mix from ETC! ETC!.

Also included are two originals from Hot Mouth with Chris James of “The Veldt” fame on vocals that gives us a build based around a guitar melody and Chris James’ vocals, with a drop of funky, chopped electro house stabs that are perfect for a club. Federico Scavo gives the track more of a tech twist, which works very well as it is a song that lends itself to a tech remix.
