Here at FRESH New Tracks we like to bring you the latest in new music, but theres no denying that a throwback track at the right time can work wonders. From now until you die we’ll taking part in Throwback Thursdays, in which will bring you some timeless, older tracks. The songs will vary from electro to hip-hop to dubstep. Being that this is our first time doing this, feel free to leave suggestions and recommend tracks for next weeks TBT in the comments section. FNT is proud to sponsor LYfeSTile‘s latest project “4YOURMIND.” This project is just full of brilliantly conceived hip-hop heaters. After giving it a full listen through, I can safely say that it is worth lending the latest project from Dream B.I.G aka “Dream Beyond Ignorant Gestures” an ear. “Life of a Dreamer,” hosted by DJ MoneyBags is a straight up, no gimmicks, refreshing hip-hop album.

When it comes to mixing electro with hip hop, very few get it right. I think that IllAdvized has done a really good job with their project “Fusion” which features a medley of Hip-Hop, House, Electro, Dubstep and more.

A few weeks ago we introduced you to I.O.U (Inside Our Universe). After generating a local buzz at Rutgers’ University by making songs boosting school spirit, the duo decided to bring their talents to a bigger stage with their new mixtape Breaking Our Mind Barriers. Here’s a “medium-core” dubstep gem that features an enjoyable balance between the dope original vocals and the whomps most of us have grown to love. I still can’t stand super heavy dubstep so as of right now, nothing I post will make your ears bleed.

And since I love the original version of this song so much I decided to hunt around for an unconventional remix. It might take a few listens to get acclimated to this sound but if you’ve got an affinity for both mainstream hip-hop and dubstep this could be a worthwhile download. Give it an ear at the very least. PS Lil Wayne haters go listen to his verse in “Motivation” (linked). I’m siding with some of our fans on this one, Wayne’s talents haven’t been exhausted quite yet… (PPS. FML Mach already posted this one like 22 days ago…)
