Summer is the time to let go and splash your mind full of new and refreshing memories. All you have to worry about is making the best ones possible. That’s not too hard, all we know how to do at the end of the day is have a good time, and summer is just one long weekend set on achieving that. Indie music in summer is like a gorgeous woman on the beach with her over-sized sunglasses, and sand filled flip flops acting as if her bikini isn’t the equivalent of seductive lingerie, it just doesn’t get any better. Spending all day in your bathing suit, and all night looking for it. That is what indie exemplifies for me. So whether you are listening to waves crash up on the beach, having a bonfire with friends, or just soaking up the sun … always remember, that when time disappears and there’s no place you’d rather be … that is when memories are made. I’m simply here to lay out the soundtrack to that experience.
What’s best about indie is that it disqualifies overly drunk idiots from the party. So turn the music up and keep the drama down. My favorite indie compilation thus far. If you need more then be sure to check the previous playlists if you haven’t already done so. I’m good for all these tracks so you need not pass on any.

What a good way to start 2012; Cazzette giving out their fantastic single “Killmode“, bootleged with Fatboy Slim’s “Right Here Right Now” and now Fedde Le Grand coming off of a massive 2011 and Nicky Romero, a star who is only getting brighter, give out two free songs they did together. They are quality works from that show the influences from both of them with Fedde’s house influences and Nicky Romero’s electro house style. These are free gems you do not want to pass up. Get them for free by simply liking either one of their facebook pages if you have not already, it takes 5 seconds.

Swedish DJ Oskar Egesten newest bootleg has all the makings of a great house song: infectious bass, dirty synth work, and sick melodies. This is one of the many gems in his thirty minute house set “Egesten Sessions 11” featured below.

This week just gets better and better. First it was the Knife Party EP, and now it’s these two gems. What else is there to say, except Skrillex and Cazzette’s remix to this song are both equally sick. Cazzette has been smashing the beatport charts lately and this is probably going to make its way to the top as well once it’s released. We have been waiting a while to get something from Skrillex, and hopefully this is just the beginning.

Indie is the essence of a daydream, floating in the bluest water ever seen on a white sand powdered beach, staring up at stars shining in darkness, thinking there’s no place I’d rather be than in my imagination dreaming about this. My passion for an indie record sedates and humbles me, likely for you a genre yet to be discovered in all its inherent beauty. I’ve compiled over 1200 indie tracks this year alone and it only made sense to compress the gems out of my collection and share 15, some aren’t that new but have sympathy, for most they are. If you like the post, let it be known and they’ll continue.
