Boy, have I missed these two. Although I have been in constant communication with Reef, I have been missing the music of he and his partner more than I am willing to admit on a public website. But fear not, the Fortune Fam is back for seconds. When they broke up, I knew it would only be a matter of time before they ran back into each other’s arms like lost puppies because they missed seeing me so eloquently write about their music. Now I’m sure that’s not the only reason, but I’m sure it is one. Their come back effort does not miss a beat, and picks up right where they left off, no doubt Reef has been practicing in his shower waiting for the day where he and Hop reunited. Welcome back to the blogosphere boys, we missed you.

Can January 22nd come any sooner? Keep Your Friends Close, Dylan Owen’s newest EP, will be available for free then, and I’m all in with this kid. I’ve been following Dylan since he released “The Book Report”. His flow is impeccable with so much emotion and passion, it makes me cherish each new release. Any way, here we have a sample from a John Mayer track, Who Says. Mr. Owen throws some straight fire over this beat. After too long of a wait, Fortune Fam is finally back and this time they brought some serious heat. On this track Hops uses a sample of Rod Stewart’s Young Turks which is absolutely DOPE. As usual, Reef drops some knowledge on you fools on the first verse and Hops goes in with his signature hard flow on the second and third verses. Support the Fam’ on facebook.
