Hip-Hop | Robbie Maxx feat. ReyGLPA – That Shit Cray
Posted by VMan on October 3, 2013
Here’s some local hip-hop from Robbie Maxx featuring ReyGLPA “That Shit Cray.” I had seen this video on Twitter yesterday, and felt like showing love to these artists today. I fux with this beat heavy, reminds me of a Danny Brown record, and the fellas do their thing on it. I can see this record getting played at the clubs, it’s catchy and ignorant, and I mean that with all respect. Also word on the street, Robbie Maxx is ‘opening up for Dirt Nasty tomorrow night at Webster Hall, so here’s to your FNT debut, and best of luck on the show!

This is an FNT-premiere for this talented Connecticut rapper, Jitta On The Track, who’s steadily been gaining buzz in the hip-hop world after his submission to the OurStage contest landed him on tour with Drake and J. Cole back in 2011. Here he flips Jay-Z’s “Holy Grail”, Travi$ Scott’s “Upper Echelon”, and Lil Wayne’s “Rich as Fuck” into a 3-minute verse that highlights his tremendous charisma and presence as an emcee. Every Sunday we’ll be partnering with Jitta to release an installment of this series, so stay tuned for more from this quickly-progressing young talent.
Exclusive, Featured, Interviews | Stereoshock Helps Me Get A Date, Explains The Tissues On His Desk & More
Posted by Mel on September 29, 2013
April 19th, 2012, the day started just like any other. I had woken up a few minutes later than usual and after doing the math, figured that I would miss about five minutes of my first class. I then decided to skip the whole day and stay home. As per usual when I don’t go to class, I bump it up to twice a day. Two girls were texting me at the time so I was just super busy, the time that had been allocated for me to study and do the work that I was missing was pushed aside in order to make room to mow the lawn, like my dad had asked me to days prior. I didn’t mow the lawn and instead went to Best Buy to get some Beats by Dre Studio’s. I got them, in black for some reason, came home and bumped it up once again to three times a day. After my third Klondike bar of the day, making my bi-hourly visit to Soundcloud seemed like the next obvious choice.
It was then that I became acquainted with 20 year old, New York based producer Stereoshock, or as his mother calls him Josh Cohen. I was eating some leftover chilli at the time and accidentally spilled some on my shirt but it didn’t matter, because the song I was listening to was just so good. It wasn’t an original, but it sure sounded like it. At that point forward I was aware that an edit or mashup could be more than vocals thrown over an instrumental or simply interchanging two songs drops. Stereoshock has a level of sophistication in both his edits and originals that is not seen very often. Over time we’ve become friends, and he expressed interest in an interview, so I obliged. Be warned that this interview is extremely serious. We talk about only the most important topics that other artists refuse to.

Posted by VMan on September 19, 2013
October 16, 17, 18, 19, and 20th, for 5 days in October, Amsterdam is about to be taken over by the worldwide Dance community, along with Mimada, and yours truly! Both Mimada and I will be representing FNT, attending shows by DJ Shadow, Calvin Harris, Afrojack, Tiesto, and many more! Over 50 venues spread out through out the Dutch city, will be hosting top notch producers and DJs, from happy hour to the early morning. Not only will we be attending shows, we will also be attending the ADE Playground and Conference, reporting and testing out all the new innovative technology that producers and DJs are using, along with listening to a list of panels on the current state of the EDM scene, and what can be done to move forward. Mimada and I will also be the first to know the top 100 DJ Mag list for 2013, as the list will be announced at the ADE!
FNT has always supported the EDM, Dance scene from the get, allowing many DJs and producers from all over the world to be introduced to the American market. We are proud to be attending the conference, and we look forward to partaking in this worldwide event. Oh, and if you plan on being in Amsterdam, go ahead and send us a tweet @VianneyIOU or @Zoecazal, see you all there!

Trap | PTAF – Boss Ass Bitch (Chi Duly Remix)
Posted by Jess on September 17, 2013
If you’re not familiar with Boss Ass Bitch, this is the latest and greatest thing in the world of ratchetry. Going viral on Vine via lipsyncs of the insanely catchy hook, it eventually found it’s way onto Chi Duly’s timeline. After disappearing for most of this year, the FNT vet (who first caught our attention with Balloons of Haus, cosigned by The Weeknd himself) blindsides us with a twerk friendly remix that bangs start to finish.
Aside from lending a hand on PropaneLv‘s upcoming album Varsity Blues, it seems he’s been doing some reinventing.
“I hate that I’ve bitten onto this twerk/trap stuff like every remixer in the galaxy. Sh#* happens I guess. Here we go.” – Chi Duly
Exclusive, Featured, Interviews | Rudimental Talk Music Videos, Future Expectations and More [FNT Exclusive]
Posted by Middy on September 11, 2013
Rudimental have taken the world by storm. Their single “Feel The Love” rose to the top of the charts in the UK and became a worldwide phenomenon. They have not stopped there with a host of other chart topping singles like “Not Giving In” and “Waiting All Night”. Their live show is about as energetic and “live” as there is in dance music, bringing what they call “a carnival atmosphere” to every festival and city they visit. The foursome have come a long way with their album “Home”, showing their strong UK dance influences, while keeping it soulful and unique on every track.
We had the chance to chat with them after their show with Emili Sandé two weeks ago in Central Park and talk about their incredible music videos, trying to build on their success and what they have coming up, including tracks with The Game and Ed Shereen. Click past the jump for the full interview, but before you do, watch their video for “Right Here”, it is epic. You can grab their now Platinum selling album “Home” on iTunes here. Big congrats to the guys for that!
