Progressive House | Sevag – The Heat
Posted by Middy on July 28, 2014
I saw Sevag open for Henrix & Wayne & Woods last fall and in talking to Henrix, he could not sing high enough praises for Sevag. Now close to a year later, the two of them have two collabs set for release soon, and Sevag has also become a favorite of Thomas Gold, opening for him at his Fanfare 100 event at Le Bain in NYC, as well earning a slot on Governor’s Island this weekend. His first single on Cr2 Records, “The Heat” brings exactly what it claims to do with in your face, tribal percussion that is both groovy and powerful. Grab the tune below and get ready for much more Sevag.

Mainstream Remix | The Weeknd – Often (Kygo Remix)
Posted by BIGLIFE on July 28, 2014
I’ve seen a lot of talk lately about Kygo signing to Sony. Some congratulated, some even claimed this was the beginning of the end. It’s incredible to me that fans, or people who claim to be, wouldn’t want to see their favorite artist progress. Fans don’t understand how hard it is to make a living in this music scene. The barriers to entry are higher then they’ve ever been. What Kygo has done is unprecedented, yet fans have this ill-informed notion that Sony is going ruin his brand. Sure, major labels are notorious for messing up an artist’s brand. We’ve seen many artists (sadly) come and go because they signed. Kygo, and his team, are too smart to let that happen. Kygo is going to be just fine.
Hip-Hop | Kembe X – Attention Deficit Disorder
Posted by dshaq on July 11, 2014
It has been a minute since I’ve heard some new Kembe X, which makes me a SadBoy. Low key my favorite up and comer from Chicago, Kembe has finally released some new music to hold us over for a little while. Attention Deficit Disorder features a scary slowed down instrumental, along with Kembe’s flow they flow effortlessly together and sound real nice and clean. Hopefully this means more and more Kembe, which means more posts for you lucky people. Check back and enjoy.
Progressive House | Fehrplay – Everywhere You Go
Posted by Middy on June 30, 2014
Eric Prydz is my favorite producer, so it is only logical for that love to follow to his protégés Jeremy Olander and Fehrplay. I have found it somewhat odd that Fehrplay signed over with Ultra, which he did with a flourish at Mysteryland, however I am sure the business side of things made sense. His debut release on the label has everything you want from the Swedish prog sensation, with a super funky bass line, fluttering arps and piano to bring it all together.

Chill, Electronic | falls – to see #u
Posted by BP on June 22, 2014
Today I’d like to introduce Laurie Stanley, aka Falls, from the UK. After stumbling upon his Soundcloud page I found a couple of gems that needed to be shared. I would describe the sound as very mellow. Chill, ambient, simple, and beautiful are all words that could describe these few tracks. My personal favorite is the new track “to see #u” released yesterday. To help everyone get acquainted with the humble Falls, check out this very brief interview we had and download the tracks straight from Soundcloud. Looking forward to more!
BP: Tell me about yourself?
Falls: I’m laurie. All i really do is sit on the internet in my room and listen to music. I live in the southwest of the uk.
BP: What are your influences?
Falls: Mostly my friends and their music. I listen to a lot of other stuff, but I like to make music that fits in with the people I like personally. My dripfest buds [are] Kid Hnrk, Drew the Architect, Drip-133, and Misogi.
BP: Goals?
Falls: Probably just to make more music than I am at the moment, and to meet more cool people.
Right on Falls. Take a listen below!
