Dubstep, Preview | Koven – No Blocks
Posted by Mach on February 12, 2013
People need to know Koven. His upcoming EP, “More Than You” is going to be a chart topper, I can just feel it. He incorporates the melodic vibes that everyone loves but also rocks bass to your core like no other. “No Blocks” is what Koven does. The melody takes you for a smooth ride until you meet the drop, and from there it sends chilling bass through you until the next lull. Koven’s EP “More Than You” releases on March 4th through Viper Recordings.
Drum & Bass | Younger Brother – Psychic Gibbon (Oscillator Z Remix)
Posted by Mach on February 12, 2013
Literally just posted new Oscillator Z yesterday and now he releases another sick tune, only this time he went with Drum & Bass. I am really addicted to the liquid style he has flowing through this. The drop is electrifying, as if charging your mind for a great adventure ahead. The vocals just bring it all together for me, without them this track would feel incomplete. All around cool Drum & Bass track, round of applause for Oscillator Z.
Hip-Hop, Mixtapes | WoodysProduce – OutKast Remixed Mixtape
Posted by Mach on February 11, 2013
I have been extremely excited for the release of this remix mixtape. WoodysProduce states “OutKast is the greatest duo in music. Ever. Since they are not getting back together anytime soon, I wanted to shed new light on some of my favorite songs and give people some new Kast to bump.” He couldn’t have said it any better. OutKast was amazing, they revolutionized Hip-Hop, and were one of the most influential duos of our generation. Woody revamped 11 great tracks. My top 5 remixes in no specific order are “ATLiens,” “Intl Player Anthem,” “Wheelz of Steel,” “B.O.B.,” and “Jazzy Belle.” Of course, this entire mixtape is awesome, the top 5 of others will differ from mine. My one negative is that I was sad he did not remix “The Way You Move” seeing as it is one of my favorites but this is not a real complaint. Enough chat, Woody provides nostalgia at its finest.

Dubstep | OSCILLATOR Z – TICKER
Posted by Mach on February 11, 2013
Oscillator Z has been releasing so much free fire for weeks now, the number of tracks I like from him have tripled in my library. This is one nasty Drumstep original, he uses a lot of signature sounds we know from Figure and also some sharp bass sounds from filth monger Getter. This track reminds me of one of Batman’s villains, the Clock King (photo above). Tick tock, it’s time for bass.
Preview, Trance | Dash Berlin Ft. Chris Madin – Fool For Life (Dash Berlin 4AM Remix)
Posted by Mach on February 11, 2013
“#musicislife” is by far my favorite album of 2012. Since its release, the question on my mind has been, which track will Dash Berlin create a 4am remix of? I am happy that they chose “Fool For Life.” It is definitely one of my top 5 favorites from the album, but I feel it has more versatility for a remix than the other tracks do. Only having heard this preview of the remix, I have to say I enjoy Dash Berlin’s piano and synth progression much more than the original. The drop is something different than most Trance listeners are use to hearing. It has a little bit of a breakbeat vibe to it but still has that progressive flow anyone can fall in love with. This remix makes me even more excited to soak in ASOT at UMF this year. This remix is set to release on Aropa Records on February 28th.
Electro-House | Two Door Cinema Club – Next Year (Shields Remix)
Posted by Mach on February 7, 2013
Sometimes it is the poppy tracks that really hit the spot. Shields was asked by Two Door Cinema Club to remix this track from their recent album “Beacon.” Two Door Cinema Club is an over-remixed group, which is why it was so surprising that i actually enjoyed this remix. Sweet track to add to the weekend playlist.
Hip-Hop | Martz – Silent Feel
Posted by Mach on February 7, 2013
Hip-Hop is great with sick verses, but sometimes great Hip-Hop is nothing more than a simple and gentle instrumental. Martz is an up and coming Dubstep produce. Not sure what made him decide to take a step away when creating this track, but I am thankful he did. Flawless design, this track reminds me of JJ DOOM (MF DOOM) and Captain Murphy (Flying Lotus). Big ups to Martz on this fresh Hip-Hop beat to chill to.
