Them Jersey boys I.O.U. are back with a new single “I Refuse” sampling the Temptations and the dance classic “Zombie Nation” and though they haven’t made any official announcements, I have a feeling a project is in the works, it’s been too long that we’ve gotten a mixtape from the Rutgers boys. They’ve been working though that’s for sure, peep the official remix of Ayah Marar’s Beg Borrow Steal done by Izee (1/2 of the duo, Buck‘s the other guy), and make sure you listen and get this free download! I’m surprised this track hasn’t gotten more coverage over the past few days. Candyland, the killer duo from Isla Vista, comprised of Josie Martin & Ethan Davis, just released (yet another) OG remix – and it’s spectacular to say the least.
Remember back in ’09 when a bunch of artists kept remixing/sampling this song (e.g. – Tiësto’s Remix and Jason Derulo’s “Watcha Say”)? Well, Candyland just brought it back, and it’s straight fire. The way these two chop and screw the vocals, and then throw down an original beat with that classic Candyland sound is refreshing, leaving you wondering how you’re going to wait for their next production. Lush & Simon release their remix of Osen & Baha’s single “The Warrior”. The duo land on Mark Brown’s Cr2 Records for the label’s ADE compilation that features some of their best tracks this year. The duo are proving that they deserve to be in the conversation for some of the brightest up-and-coming stars in dance music and are getting the support to back it up. They are featured on Revealed Recordings upcoming Talent Revealed EP that got some guy named Dyro his start. Preview “Adrenaline” below and watch for the release next Monday.

After releasing nothing all year, Dimitri Vangelis and Wyman are on a tear, releasing their “People Of The Night” remix on Monday and now revealing their next single “Silver Sun”, which will be the anthem of Lights Festival in Stockholm on November 30th. Festival anthems tend to be not that great, but wow this not only shatters that expectation, but may also be the Stockholm based duo’s best track to date. The track comes out September 27th exclusively on Spotify (don’t get why labels do that) and then will be released on all other portals October 22nd. For all Europeans, get info on the festival here.

I don’t take submissions anymore. When I receive them, I usually trash them. This new Forever Kid remix caught my attention, and rightfully so. While little is known about Forever Kid, what I do know is that they’re a Swedish production duo that are taking the blogosphere by storm with their infectious nu-disco tunes. Their take on the Bee Gee’s “Tragedy” is no exception, showcasing a nostalgic summertime sensibility that is worming its way into the mainstream. Feel the groove. Cool? Cool. Hat tip to Aaron Harper.

Canadian house duo, Danzfolk are fresh faces to the scene, but they have the makeup to become the progressive stars from Canada. The duo just released a 4-track EP “The Other Side” for free that shows the wide range of styles they can put together in one body of work. The EP combines big progressive melodies, blaring horns, and even a funky, disco track “Bring It Back“, to finish out the EP on a nostalgic note.

Ah finally, this remix will see the light of day and an official release. It has been done and approved for close to a year now, but with all of the incredible songs that Size Records has in its stores, it never got to be released. The duo give the track a big-room boost of energy, reviving it for the later months of 2013. Look for this September 16th. This is only the beginning of Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman on Size Records, with “Rebel” set for release at some point and possibly other tracks as well. Coming up for Size, there is a Chris Avantgarde track slated for release in October and plenty more.
