DJ-Set, Progressive House | Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman BBC Radio One Guest Mix

Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman BBC Radio One Guest Mix

Steve Angello kicked off his new residency on BBC Radio One last night and the first ever guest mixer he had on the show was none other than our friends, Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman. Favorites of Steve, the duo have been on his radar for some time now remixing “People Of The Night“, collabing with Size signee, AN21, on “Rebel“, duo out on the 20th and probably most famously, actually collabing with the man himself for their upcoming single “Payback”. If you have not heard a live rip of “Payback” yet, well take the time to listen all the way through and get a peak at what may be the biggest track this year.

The guest mix features 5 unreleased tracks of 7, 4 from them and 1 one from a new duo from somewhere in this great wide world. The mix climaxes with “Payback”, but before we get to that point, they kick things off with one of three never before heard, unreleased tunes, “Zonk” that combines the bouncy bass line and horn sound that has been popular in 2013 with the fine melodies we know they can craft. The other two are just next level stuff. These need to be out to the world in properly ASAP, but with their history releasing tracks, we can only hope these IDs will be released this decade, at least before 2048. Tracklist after the jump.

Deep House | FlicFlac – Triangle

Posted by on December 26, 2013

I’ve been living in a horrible, dark period where I’ve listened to just about each and every song on my iPhone and iPod’s limited memory about 15 times in the past few weeks of traveling via plane, train, subway, bus, taxi, and foot, not to mention the times I hide my headphones under my hair when I want to mute all the family ramblings. You know how the holidays go. Luckily the latest free download from Austrian duo FlicFlac was a breath of fresh air. It only took about 17 seconds to be exact for that tingly feeling ya get when you listen to a new song to build inside me, and by a minute in, I’ve already had a huge grin on my face. Let the sexy saxophone take you away.

Progressive House | Dzeko & Torres – Highline

Dzeko & Torres - Highline

Dzeko & Torres have benefited from Tiësto’s immense recent support, consistently playing their remixes and originals out over the past few months. This has all culminated in an end of the year release on his esteemed Musical Freedom. “Highline” brings the melodic prowess we have seen from the duo in their recent releases and possibly takes it to new heights.

Dubstep, Progressive House | No Limits – Miracles (Feat. Jovan Wilder), Dreams

No Limits are a duo of 19 year old producers from Ohio who I just now came across and was really impressed with their work. One of the two tracks that stood out to me was “Miracles”, a progressive house track released a day ago for free. While it certainly isn’t the most innovative track, it is still an enjoyable listen. However, what really peaked my interest with these guys was an older track of theirs.”Dreams” is by no means new. In fact, it is literally a million years old. It is insanely good though and an impressive blend of multiple types of sounds, though the dubstep qualities are clearly the most apparent. Also, the drums in it are unreal. Both tracks are a free download.

Max Elto, formerly known as Taped Rai is not the most well known name coming out of Sweden but did they ever do a fantastic job on this. They are a production and vocalist duo who made their first big appearance, under their previous name on “Just One Last Time”, the stand out track from David Guetta’s pop album Nothing But The Beat 2.0. Little under a year ago, the duo released the acoustic version of “Shadow Of The Sun” and that itself was great. It has been a long time coming but the original mix is finally out and is it ever amazing. Everything about this track from the vocals, to the build, to the melody, to the drop are all top notch.
