Collin McLoughlin is the king of melodic dubstep. There’s no question about it. He can write. He can produce. He can sing. He can even DJ. What does the guy not do at this point? When we heard he was releasing a “Transatlanticsm” remix we didn’t know what to think. What Collin’s come up with here is serious business. Not only is this remix beautiful, we’ve heard rumor that a huge collaboration is in the works. There’s no question that Collin’s star is quickly rising. Electro | DSK CHK Debuts “WIL” (What Is Love)

Recently debuted for a packed house on the final set of the infamous Groove Cruise 10 Year Anniversary, “WIL” brought the crowd to a roar. The SHM classic style chords mixed with nasty drop that bangs out on all cylinders has been teased now for quite awhile. DSK CHK intro’s a new protege only known as “Brink” and consistent with the DC packaging, there is little known about the artist in the cameo.
DSK CHK leaves us with a steaming hot trailer that would make 50 Shades of Grey look like a high school date. You MUST check this out, but warning, this is not work place friendly!

Dubstep, Progressive House | Denzal Park & Dave Winnel – The Great Valley

A trio of under rated producers from down under come together to create something that is very different for both parties. They have become known for their clubby, progressive house, and with “The Great Valley” they keep some of that sound, but go for something a little more mellow and different. They eschew the trend of big drops and go for something more soothing, with long melodic segments that almost act as though they are narrating some epic journey, only to be interrupted by a Seven Lions-esque dubstep bridge. It is great to see artists experiment outside of their comfort zone, and even better to see it work and it does here in “The Great Valley”.
Dubstep | Crywolf & Ianborg – Stay

Whenever I see Crywolf or Ianborg put out a new track I already assume it’s going to be beautiful. Seeing those two names together definitely made me excited to take a listen, and I was not disappointed. Melodic dubstep with emotional vocals sets the stage for “Stay”, a new single from the two creative artists. The track still has enough bass to please bass lovers like myself, and clearly these guys are no strangers to making gorgeous melodies. I can hear the styles of each artist loud and proud in this single, and it makes for a truly high quality piece.

After his brief yet awesome venture into hardstyle, Jay Cosmic displays his versatility once again with a 160BPM remix of Mikkas & Amba Shepherd’s “Finally”. You can’t really classify this song into one specific genre because it has the components of many, but it does have a very strong dubstep influence.

Consummate genre-defiers The M Machine are back with a monster of a track for this snowy afternoon. With hypnotic, choppy vocals and masterfully blended elements of techno, electro-house, and dubstep, “Superflat” manages to jack up the energy level while still sounding markedly different in that tried-and-true M Machine way.

It appears as though I, Mel, am going to be providing you guys with FNT’s first post of the year. This is a big honour because, well, first off, nobody else wanted to do it. Don’t worry though everyone, I was here for you and jumped at the opportunity when I realized I was pretty bored and really had nothing else to do.
The song that will be ringing in the new year here at FNT is provided by Frenchman Uppermost. “Reminder” is a french house track infused with some nu disco vibes. It features a funky guitar as well as nicely done vocal chops. Well, I have met and some might even say surpassed my quota of talking about the song at three sentences so I will just leave it at that. Uppermost is an outstanding producer and if you like this track there is plenty more on his Soundcloud.
