Dubstep, Review | Flinch – Light It Up EP
Posted by Sev on March 2, 2012
Flinch’s new EP hasn’t been getting the recognition it deserves, and from asking around it is safe to say everyone who has listened to it was caught by surprise. All four tracks on this EP are refreshing, and pleasing original dubstep tunes. Starting off with Light it Up,vocals provided by Heather Bright, which is a well worked vocal dubstep track. The drop isn’t anything crazy, but stylish enough to listen to a 100 times and not get tired of it. The second track on the EP is probably my favorite, because he showcased a version of it late last year but as a remix of a Katy B track. I’m really happy he decided get a vocalist, Domonique Porter, to lay down some original vocals to this absolute monster track. Third, we have a track entitled Lost In A Blur and I would have to say that title sums up this track well. There is a feeling of not knowing what is coming in this track, because it starts off soft and ordinary then a pretty heavy drop just slaps you in the face. The last track on the EP reminds me somewhat of Flinch’s remix to Woman Like Me, because of the same UK Funky vibe throughout the track. Grab this EP on Beatport HERE.
Dubstep | Fine Frenzy – Near To You (The Official ER Remix)
Posted by Mach on March 2, 2012
TOER (aka The Official ER) created a great melodic dubstep remix out of Near To You. It’s strange to say I actually know the original of this song very well, it isn’t exactly very famous. TOER warped the sound of the vocals, but I like how they turned out on this remix. Dubstep in this melodic style is just another face to the versatile genre, this remix turned out to be beautiful.

Drum & Bass, Dubstep, Moombahton, Review | Emalkay – Flesh & Bone (Remixes)
Posted by Mach on February 28, 2012
I wanted to take a day after this released to listen a bit more to these remixes. Emalkay are amazing, but this package contained some lesser names and I really wanted to be sure about posting them. Turns out I am in love with every remix on this, and picking one favorite is very difficult to do. The original track is cool reggae vibed drum & bass, a feel I have really been getting into as of late. The first remix on this happened to end up being my favorite, The Others kept the parts I loved about the original and added a sweet dubstep drop. When it came to picking my favorite out the 3 remixes, Delta Heavy’s remix was almost tied with The Others. Delta Heavy went with a drumstep remix, and really took off with the drum beat which sounds incredible. Beatport confused me, they have the entire remix EP labeled as dubstep, but clearly Dismantel went with a sexy moombahton remix that I don’t think anyone would mind hearing on the dance floor. All in all I really enjoyed listening to these remixes.
House | Benny Benassi Ft. Gary Go – Control
Posted by Mach on February 28, 2012
First, apologies for all the purchase music we have been posting, these past two days have been insane with the amount of good releases. I had no idea Benny Benassi was even releasing this track today with all its remixes, god I love surprises. Control is an incredible track, Gary Go, the same man responsible for Cinema’s vocals, just perfected another cover. Benny in my mind is a legend, I have heard he doesn’t exactly put on the best live shows, but with tracks like this, I’m still a huge fan. The remixes for this track are awesome themselves, Jacob Plant and Ianizer & Lemethy with the top two remixes. I have started to notice Benny Benassi’s slight attraction to dubstep, if you watch some of his live performances he tends to make a few drops, including his own unreleased dubstep remix of James Blake’s Limit To Your Love. I definitely enjoyed this track and its remixes, worth the listen for sure.
Electro-House | Kill The Noise & Datsik – Lightspeed
Posted by Mach on February 28, 2012
OWSLA with another sick release, a collaboration with the beast Kill The Noise and legendary Datsik. Dubstep? No, surprisingly this is a banger electro house track from the two dubstep fiends. This is a fun sounding track, you hear the blend of Kill The Noise and Datsik’s styles. Never thought I’d see the day either would drop an upbeat dance track like this one. Hope this wont be the last collaboration we hear from them.
Dubstep | The Roots ft. Monsters of Folk – Dear God 2.0 (Zeds Dead Remix)
Posted by Spice on February 27, 2012
Zeds Dead has been killing the remix game lately. Their latest, a chilled out dubstep reboot of “Dear God 2.0” by The Roots and Monsters of Folk, is a perfect Monday night listen. The original version of this song is absolutely beautiful, but the dark, moody synths and heavy bass definitely bring out the intensity of the plaintive vocals. Preview and download below.
Dubstep | Florence and the Machine – Cosmic Love (Cemoa Remix)
Posted by Mach on February 22, 2012
I know R Rated is going up later today (which is epic by the way), but this remix could not wait. This just so happens to be one of the first remixes that Cemoa has done, and it is absolutely breath taking. I think that even if you usually don’t find yourself dipping your ears in dubstep, this track is for anyone willing to give it a chance. Special thanks to T for hitting me up with Cemoa’s soundcloud and an obvious thanks to Cemoa for this gorgeous piece of art. Check out Cemoa on SOUNDCLOUD.
