SxG the producer/DJ from Upenn sent this record “Fireball” over and I know a few DJs that are going to be happy. This undiscovered banger is sure to get a lot of college kids raging on the dance floor with a big build, and a hard drop announced by the tag line “B*tch, get off my dick.” This track is so good you’d think Hardwell’s camp sent this over, but nah, all DIY, produced in a dorm room. Not gonna lie, this song gave me goosebumps when I thought about hearing it in a big room environment with the DJ blasting it from stage. Set for a festival, this is where this song belongs. Five Suns totally took Die Antwoord’s crazy style and flipped it for the masses. If you aren’t familiar with Die Antwoord, search Fatty Boom Boom in YouTube and then you’ll be acclimated. A high five for Five Suns though. Such a notable rework.

Kryder continues his hot label streak following his debut on Axtone Records with “Aphrodite“, now debuting a new single on Nicky Romero’s label Protocol Recordings in “Pyrmd”. It carries the same bouncy, groovy bass lines and melodic elements we expect from the Manchester producer / DJ with an edgier side that slots this perfectly onto the label, and making this one of his strongest productions to date.

Chicago reppin’, E L Y can bump out some seriously good instrumentals on the daily. Most of his music takes on a classical hip-hop sound and this is why this Nas edit made my head turn right off the bat. With the synced synth’s and Nas’s modulated voice to fit the beat perfectly, the chorus is what really brings it all together; “Life’s a bitch, and then you die. That’s why we get high, cuz you never know when you’re gonna goooo”. Couldn’t have said it better myself. I contacted & chatted it up with ELy for a little before dropping this post to get a better take on his music ambitions; “I have a mad love for hip-hop and I’m also an accomplished trap DJ under the name E1y. My main focus is instrumentals – instrumentals out the ass.” I took a listen to his DJ set’s as well – THEY GO ALL THE WAY. Here’s a player to both sooooo play on.

Progressive House | Dave Winnel & Chris Arnott – Remember To Breathe (Original + FTampa Remix)

The names Avicii, Dirty South, Vandalism, Kryder and Angger Dimas probably all mean something to you. They are all artists who Vicious Recordings helped discover and released their tracks well before they hit it big. Names like D.O.D, Dave Winnel and FTampa may not be as big now, but they are guys on the current Vicious roster who are set to do the same. Dave Winnel’s “Achtung” got a ridiculous amount of DJ support from the likes of Axwell, Alesso, Arty, Sebastian Ingrosso, Porter Robinson, Tiesto, Tommy Trash and, well you get it. FTampa’s “Kick It Hard” became a late season favorite, notably championed by Hardwell and then powered its way into many other sets.
On “Remember To Breathe”, Dave Winnel goes for a more melodic, big room approach than his past few works, calling upon Chris Arnott to lay down some superb vocals. FTampa takes the song to another level, working with the original melody and adding his own complex, melodic key play to the track, accentuated by Mr. Arnott’s vocals. Also included is a Dave Winnel remix he did last month.

The good guys of Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman are finally here with a release in 2013. The duo are no stranger to big remix requests, like their Miike Snow remix and they take full advantage of the opportunity on this one. The original was a much more melodic effort from AN21 & Max Vangeli as they got ready for their album, but Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman inject their own big-room flavor to make this track relevant once again and put it right back into DJ radio shows and sets, as we enter the last few months of the year. Coming up, at some point, they have their second release on Size, “Rebel” with AN21 and many more.
