My good buddy, long time pal, best friend and fellow Vaseline enthusiast, Marcus Santoro, has just released for free another instrumental. If you are familiar with “Emporium”, his first instrumental he gave away exclusively with us, then you know what to expect from “Touch”. A nice, uplifting six minutes that, even though is devoid of vocals, is definitely worth a listen. It would be better with vocals but it is still a good track on its own.

He has also remixed Strange Talk’s “Picking Up All The Pieces” brilliantly. There is no release date yet, because of Avicii and stuff, but it’s coming soon. Below is a little teaser to hold you over until then.

Hip-Hop | Wale — Poor Decisions (feat. Lupe Fiasco & Rick Ross)

Wale’s upcoming third album, The Gifted, is gearing up to be one of his most consistent projects to date. While his debut was uneven and burdened by too many crossover attempts, his second was too MMG-influenced and aggressive. The first three leaks we’ve received from this new album, though, have all had that soulful style of Wale’s, which was the signature of his successful early mixtapes. This is the first of two new singles Wale dropped today in preparation for his album’s June 25th release, featuring a smooth Jake One beat and a couple quality guest verses courtesy of Lupe Fiasco and Rick Ross. Gotta love Lupe’s “olly olly oxen free” reference and the way he flips the chorus at the end, and Rozay’s verse isn’t half bad, either. June is shaping up to be a wonderful month for hip-hop.

Electro-House | Mikael Weermets – Panorama

Posted by on June 1, 2013

Mikael Weermets - PanoramaBoom, another free download from me, how rare. Don’t worry I will be back to my Beatport posting ways soon enough, but for now enjoy this free download, because Mikael Weermets brings some heat. As a thank you to the fans for supporting him for the past 10 years, Swedish Dj / producer, Mikael Weermet has released “Panorama” for free. The track combines chunky electro elements with a big room melodic interlude, making this an ideal addition to his recent heavyset discography.

Inspired by a festival last summer, this track as he said “wrote itself” from the energy of the day before and soon turned into one of his most requested tracks to date. It has already been supported by the likes of Tiesto, Deniz Koyu, Matisse & Sadko, Michael Calfan & Tristan Garner, so take that as an indication that it is a worthwhile addition to your library as well.

Chill, Hip-Hop, Rap | Jetpack Jones ft. James Joseph – Solar (Prod. Brock Berrigan)

Fresh New Track’s favorite emcee, Jetpack Jones, hits us with his latest masterpiece, Solar. Solar is different than most Jetpack tracks, but instead of leaving you all to struggle trying to find out what that special something is, I’ll just tell you. Jetpack recruited a singer to sing his hook. Usually, Jetpack sings his own hooks, but I think that this is a nice change up and let’s him focus on purely rapping. “Solar” is my favorite Jetpack track to date, and I’m sure his upcoming mixtape, Beyond Infinity, will have plenty of songs just like this for me to vibe to. Grab the track for free courtesy of the man and be on the lookout for the next single off of “Beyond Infinity”

Electro-House | Bingo Players – Buzzcut

Bingo Players - BuzzcutThe Bingo Players have become synonymous with quality. Leading the way for their label, Hysteria Recordings, their singles from “Rattle” to “Out Of My Mind” have remained mainstays of DJ sets all across the spectrum. “Buzzcut” departs from their signature synth that has made their sound so unique and a cut above the pack, going for a grinding low end, with a punchy, hardstyle influenced, alternating bass line and teasing, pitched builds. Is this their strongest effort to date? I would have to say no, since it seems to merge towards the trends in dance music, instead of remaining unique, but it is still a good addition to the Bingo Players discography. Oh, and also if you want there is a video of Melanie Iglesias getting a glove show in almost no clothing with “Buzzcut” as the soundtrack, if you want to watch, up to you.

Hip-Hop | Maxxx Flair — Wake Up [EP]

Posted by on May 19, 2013

Wake Up Artwork Large

After premiering two impressive leaks from this lyrically-gifted Yonkers emcee, his new EP Wake Up is here in full. While his past releases have highlighted his rapidly-growing skill as a writer and technical rapper, Wake Up is by far his most consistent record to date, and with a decidedly more reflective sound, Maxxx’s personality begins to shine on the record as we hear more of his story. In conjunction with the EP release, we also have the music video to his lead single, “Feels Right”, featuring Sunny Jones, who also produced the majority of the record. Enjoy the tape, and keep up with Maxxx Flair as I know he has some great work ahead of him.

Electro | Coyote Kisses – Thundercolor EP

Coyote Kisses - Thundercolor EP

Oh Coyote Kisses, how I have missed your music so. It has been too long since we have had some new music from you guys and this EP is exactly what we needed. The Thundercolor EP is the longest release to date from US producers Bryce Bresnan and Joe Sussingham better known as Coyote Kisses. Trained musicians, the two of them showcase their compositional ability and the ability to create musically interesting sounding songs. The 4 track EP encompasses much of the wide variety of sounds and styles that they have embraced already in their young and promising careers, while expanding their sound even further.

While many EPs sound like 4 random songs thrown together, this one has the sound of a mini-16 minute album, giving you a small snippet of the overall creative process at work with the two of them. The EP starts slow with the soothing “Diving At Night“, mixing a slow piano melody with a pitched vocal and subtle guitar chords. “Stay With You” is most like the unique sound and style they have developed with a blend of bouncy, differentiating bass lines, bright synths, while “This Is How You Know” brings in some rock infused funk with an infectious synth melody. “Changing Of The Guard“, which can be downloaded for free here, finishes out the EP, capping off the short, but diverse journey Coyote Kisses take you on, showing off their musicianship with a prominent guitar and subtle melodic synths underneath.

A project one year in the making, Coyote Kisses give us spellbinding productions that make it entirely worth the wait. Their quality over quantity sound makes it easy to revisit each individual track plenty and with this EP, you will be back again in no time.
