Progressive House | Example – Say Nothing (Hardwell & Dannic Remix)

Posted by on September 16, 2012

After first hearing this at Hardwell’s show at Lavo, it was apparent that Hardwell with fellow Breda man Dannic had made something special. Following their collab on “Kontiki“, these two come together one more time to give “Say Nothing” the spark it needed. Hardwell & Dannic have paved their careers with their own sounds, but with this remix they take the more anthemic route with a smooth build, meshing perfectly with Example’s vocals and then a uplifting drop mixing in bits of the chorus from Example. Let the production prowess of Hardwell & Dannic wash over you as their well oiled melodies make this a must have fall track.

Electro-House | R3hab – The Bottle Song Remixes + Dyro – Seata

Posted by on May 14, 2012

This is a very impressive remix package because there aren’t any mediocre remixes, which is rare because there is usually one or two in a remix package of 4 or 5. Dyro provides the most heavily supported remix of the package with the subtle build and high energy drop of rising synths and thumping bass. The Darth & Vader mix, supported by Sander van Doorn, works on the build adding more of a progressive flare to it with added synth chords and a grungy low end synth drop with emotive key work over the top. Dannic rebuilds much more of the track, adding a bigger intro and synth chords to the build with a moving melody in the break. D-wayne’s remix may be weakest of the bunch, but it is still a strong remix supported by Pete Tong with much of the original build in tact and dutch house drop. Below is the Darth & Vader mix and after the jump are the Dannic & D-wayne remixes.
Also included is Dyro’s single “Saeta” he also released recently. It is what we have come to expect from him, though maybe a little less creative than his recent works “EMP” and “Raid” and his upcoming “Top Of The World”. It has the electro build and the modern talking drop that is somewhat getting abused now, but still in style and quite popular on dance floors around the world.

DJ-Set | TeeTs – Crushing Life: Volume 1

Posted by on April 23, 2012

It’s been a minute since we’ve had a weekly DJ set here on FNT, so I want to make sure I brought the tradition back with a BANG. This week, I enlisted the help of TeeTs, who is easily one of my favorite rising mashup talents (if you haven’t had the opportunity to experience him yet be sure to check out his SoundCloud). His pension for mixing the most ear-wetting EDM and Top 40 tunes , always keeps me stuck to my headphones for those 4 to 5 minutes of mashup bliss, but at the same time leave me wanting more…much more. So what better way to experience more TeeTs, than to give him an entire 50 minutes?!? Allow me to officially present TeeTs Crushing Life: Volume 1.

DJ-Set, Progressive House | NO_ID & Martin Volt – Zelda (Incl. Hardwell Edit)

Posted by on March 26, 2012

As we wait for Hardwell & Dannic – Kontiki, Revealed Records has released these two tracks from NO_ID & Martin Volt with an edit from Hardwell to hold us over until then. The original is the more progressive of the two with a strong distorted bass line with a rising synth melody over the moving bass line in the break. Harwell’s edit is actually an edit, unlike the trend of tracks recently where the big name artist does very little and adds his name to it. He takes the song and strips it down to make it much more of a festival track, putting much greater emphasis on the bass line. He keeps the rising synth melody for part of the break but then drops it for his own signiature big room sound that takes this track to a whole new level.
