House, Progressive House | Pierce Fulton – Sink Or Swim / Mr Mime EP
Posted by Middy on October 1, 2012
Before Pierce Fulton fully descends into the debauchery of his current “Love & War” tour with Wolfgang Gartner & Popeska, taking a tour bus all across America from Boise to Burlington, from Seattle to Silver Springs, he has released his first originals since 10/6 & West Egg and before that “Who Wants Spaghetti?“. The more melodic “Sink Or Swim” take full advantage of Bebe Rexha’s superb vocals, adding full bodied synths and a pitched top line. This track lends to the more melodic side of Pierce’s sound that we have seen in “Lay Right Here” and his “Don’t Be Afraid” remix. “Mr Mime” completes the EP with its chugging baseline, crunchy keys, and fast moving, reverbed top line. “Mr. Mime” may be the more decorated of the two, already getting support from Above & Beyond on Trance Around The World twice, though that does not diminish the quality at all of “Sink Of Swim” in this well-rounded EP.
House | Pierce Fulton – Sink Or Swim / Mr. Mime EP (Preview)

Cr2 Records has finally unveiled the official clips for Pierce Fulton’s latest original work in the form of a two track EP with the previously previewed “Mr Mime” and the new “Sink Or Swim”. The Above & Beyond supported “Mr. Mime” and its chugging progressive beats was the first to be previewed thus has garnered the most buzz and has been a focal point of Pierce Fulton’s sets. “Sink Or Swim” may become the star of the EP with its more accessible progressive melodies (not to say Mr. Mime isn’t likable by all). Pierce Fulton has been a fast rising name on the scene and this EP may just be the next step he needs to go from a supporting name on tours, to becoming the consistent headliner himself.
House | Jeremy Olander – The Rose Law / Rorschach EP
Posted by Middy on September 17, 2012
After releasing “Audio Bug” for free on Friday, Jeremy Olander leaves Pryda Friends for Cr2 Records to release this two track EP, The Rose Law / Rorschach. Both of them contain the signiature style that we see from the Eric Prydz apprentice, while still remaining true to his own unique style of progressive house. Jeremy Olander gives the tracks long techy builds and then adds delicate key play and ambient chords that left uninterrupted will leave you in a trance.

Progressive House | MYNC & Senadee – No Place Like Home (Club + Denzal Park Remix)
Posted by Middy on August 6, 2012
As previewed a few days ago, the summer sounding track from MYNC with vocals from Senadee has been released today with a great remix from Denzal Park. The club mix has a feel good vibe to it with infectious vocals, while the Denzal Park remix continues their string of progressive tracks with a big room feel, meant to played for a festival sized audience. While the other remixes are solid contenders with their harder, darker styles, Denzal Park keeps the original feel intact and adds just a bit more to make it this one better. If you didn’t already grab the free Avesta remix here.

Progressive House | MYNC & Senadee – No Place Like Home (Club + Free Avesta Remix) [Preview]

When I first heard this track from MYNC, the label boss of the important Cr2 records, I wasn’t super excited about it, but over time the song grew on me. It has a happy, summer feel to it with high pitched piano chords and smooth male vocals. Denzal Park gives the melody a little more with added synth layers, bringing this blissful track to another level to a pure hands in the air, festival moment. Avesta takes a different approach keeping a big room feel in the intro, adding new elements to the build with an grinding Electro House drop. This one is free, so make sure you grab this one below. Mario Fischetti takes a similar approach to Avesta except with a heavier drop. Electronic Youth take a more eclectic, chill approach to it, concentrating on the bass line, stripping much of the melody down to the bare parts and recreating much of the song as their own. The package will be released August 6th, but you can get the Avesta remix for free now!

Albums, Progressive House | The 8th Note – Fire
Posted by Middy on June 20, 2012
Israeli trio, the 8th Note have released their single “Fire” on Cr2 records as part of their Ibiza compilation, and it is a perfect summer track. They have been making some noise this year with some widely supported collaborations and original works, and are ready to continue that into the second half of 2012. The track builds with a steady bass line and piano melody that continues into the break getting more intense adding a driving synth chord progression. The rest of the compilation is a good listen with some quality progressive house releases that are not your mainstays, but nonetheless very good tracks.
