Hip-Hop | Maxxx Flair — Wake Up [EP]
Posted by jeffwbaird on May 19, 2013
After premiering two impressive leaks from this lyrically-gifted Yonkers emcee, his new EP Wake Up is here in full. While his past releases have highlighted his rapidly-growing skill as a writer and technical rapper, Wake Up is by far his most consistent record to date, and with a decidedly more reflective sound, Maxxx’s personality begins to shine on the record as we hear more of his story. In conjunction with the EP release, we also have the music video to his lead single, “Feels Right”, featuring Sunny Jones, who also produced the majority of the record. Enjoy the tape, and keep up with Maxxx Flair as I know he has some great work ahead of him.
Videos | Kanye West Performs “Black Skinhead” & “New Slaves”

I stayed in tonight just to watch Kanye West perform on SNL. Somewhere, while Kanye was blowing minds, there was middle-aged couple watching the performance unable to grasp what makes him great. Turning to his wife in utter befuddlement. Discounting him because he uses “curse” words in his songs. Yeezus has risen to destroy all small-mindedness and show extreme disrespect to the haters. The tribal stadium drums are savage. Hit the jump for “New Slaves” below. “Yeezus” drops June 18th.

Dubstep, Electro, Preview, Videos | Coyote Kisses – Thundercolor EP
Posted by Mach on May 1, 2013
Coyote Kisses have been laying a little low over the past few months, and I am excited to know why now. This is just a little peak at what to expect from their upcoming EP, “Thundercolor”. Again, they come in with an awesome electric guitar and some melodic bass. I hate how short previews are, but what can you do but put this sucker on repeat until your ears bleed. Coyote Kisses’ “Thundercolor” EP officially releases on May 5th.
Track List

2. Stay With You
3. This is How You Know

RnB | Gautier – Untamed Flowers (feat. Jeffrey dè Soul, Jules & Louis)
Posted by W8 on April 23, 2013
Dazzling us with a rich R&B production comes French producer Gautier partnered with vocalist Jeffrey Dè Soul, and Louïs who combs the beat with a neat touch of lingering guitar. Altogether this conglomerate delivers, and it’s obvious they would… As if R&B coming out of Paris, France could be any more legitimate.

Electronic, Indie | Bend – I’m Taking Care of Him
Posted by mimada on April 19, 2013
So now that you’ve got the latest Daft Punk in your sweet possession, add this to your summer playlist in the making:
Meet Bend, an indie synth-pop duo outta Los Angeles who’s previous works prove their versatility on the indie electro front. Their newest single, “I’m Taking Care of Him,” feels a little like an electronic Vampire Weekend battling the AcaFellas over a beautiful grand Steinway piano. This song makes a perfect summer melody as I can just imagine myself listening to it on any occasion, be it on the beach, on a boat, or driving around with the windows down. Or floating in a sea of nebula, you know (see above).
This marks the first of 3 singles to be released until their full LP drops this June. So stay tuned!

Trap | Jason Burns – Back 2 You (Watapachi Remix)
Posted by A on April 17, 2013

Believe it or not, there are tracks that we miss. When you’re staring at a inbox with over 10,000 submissions at any given time, you’re going to make mistakes. Just last night, I stumbled across “Back 2 You,” an infectious UK centric inspired bass tune that instantly made it into my playlist. Although the track was released in 2011, up-and-coming Tokyo based producers Watapachi put their spin on the tune, breathing new life into already outstanding single. *Damn Son, Where’d You Find This?*
