Progressive House | Steve James’ Remix Of The Chainsmokers Will “Let You Go” Right Into Festival Season

The summer season is here, and it has yet another anthem candidate on its hands. This time it comes from Pittsburgh, from a young man by the name of Steve James. You may have heard of him; his ZHU “Faded” remix has amassed over a million plays, his Ellie Goulding “Beating Heart” remix has been played on Tiësto’s Club Life, and his free downloads have spread like wild fire. His new gem is a remix for The Chainsmokers’, “Let You Go.”

The original was by no means a slouch, but this young producer has imparted some of his youth upon the track, making for a notably livelier vibe. Really we wouldn’t doubt if this thing starts making the rounds on festival stages and summer mixes around the world. It doesn’t hurt that it’s a freebie. Grab it below, and as always support it with some heart action on Hype Machine!

French DJs and producers Jidax teamed up with Enzo Darren and US vocalist Chester Rushing to drop “Paint The World,” a progressive house gem premiered on Tiesto’s Club Life podcast a few months back, and officially released in the US this week via Radikal Records, along with remixes by Lush & Simon and Dirty Rush & Gregor Es. If you’ve been looking for a follow up to Swedish House Mafia ever since they broke up, “Paint The World” is just that: epic vocals, a powerful production, and a positive message. This is a must listen and a must download, I guarantee it!

Some of ya’ll might say, we already know this track, but this is for those who don’t know it. If you like cool music, you need to hear this record! It’s soulful, sexy, and perfect for these Summer days. And if you don’t trust me, trust Tiesto, he dropped a Stefan Biniak production 2 weeks ago on his Club Life podcast. Albums, Review | Tiesto Club Life Volume 3: Stockholm (Album Review)

Posted by on June 26, 2013

tiesto club life volume 3

If there is a man who has a firm grip on the pulse on the current state of clubland, it is the king of dance music, Tiesto. His consistent support has given rise to countless talents that are mainstays on festival and club stages all across the globe. Whether or not you like his move from trance to big room house, he has been on the forefront of the trends of dance music every step of the way, from his In Search Of Sunrise compilations, to now his 3rd cataloged Club Life compilation.

Much of the compilation draws on Tiesto’s recent anthology. Whether it is his very underrated remix of Passion Pit’s “Carried Away”, or his recent single in the lead up to the release “Take Me”, the compilation shows the tireless nature of Tiesto and his team to get top of line productions out onto the market. The previous 2 Club Life compilations were named after US cities Las Vegas & Miami, respectively, as an ode to their place in his life and his musical career. He has now chosen Swedish capitol, Stockholm as his next tribute, not only because of enormous talent possessed by the producers in the Scandinavian dance music mecca, but also in his incredibly nomadic lifestyle, he calls Stockholm one his homes.

Compilation, Progressive House | Tiesto – Club Life – Volume Two Miami

Posted by on April 27, 2012

Tiesto has released his massive Club Life compilation as an ode to one of the EDM capitals of the US, Miami. His first Club Life was dedicated to Las Vegas, where he helped transform the music scene dominated by a Hip Hop to one of the EDM capitals of the world possibly second only to Ibiza. The overall album shows the current direction of Tiesto’s music himself and the direction of EDM with all progressive and electro house tracks making the cut on this incredible compilation. Unlike previous compilations that we have been seeing recently that are simply a whole bunch of other people’s songs, Tiesto either made or is part of 8 of 15 of the tracks. While only 6 of the tracks are brand new, in this day and age where the constant need for new songs is there and not all the songs are Tiesto’s, that is quite a good number.

The album starts off with Tiesto’s piano driven progressive track “Chasing Summers” that really has not gotten enough credit for its production work especially with the foreboding beginning, creating a massive sense of anticipation. The album continues with his “Space Junk”esque collaboration with Wolfgang Gartner “We Own The Night” and then moves through his big mainstream remixes of Gotye – “Somebody I Used To Know” and Coldplay “Paradise” that have gotten some serious tour play. The next two tracks is where the album is truly at its best with Sultan + Ned Shepard feat. Quilla – Walls and The Naked & Famous – Young Blood (Tiësto & Hardwell Remix). “Walls” is one of those vocal progressive house anthems you will hear this summer without really knowing who made it, but make sure to get to know this track, the vocals from Quilla and especially the euphoric melody make this a must have. Hardwell & Tiesto teaming on a track worked exceptionally well on “Zero 76” and it has worked at the same level on “Young Blood” with a sublime melody and great use of the indie vocals from The Naked & Famous. Read more and preview more tracks after jump. I recommend the unmixed version to get the whole track and it comes with the continuous mix that you would be buying anyway with the mixed CD.

Progressive House | Badisco – Melancholy (Original Mix)

Posted by on December 9, 2011

I’ve desperately been seeking an ID on this track for way too long now, finally it has surfaced to air. Badisco is a young talent rising out of Switzerland, just recently this track was magnified by the likes of none other than Tiesto on his weekly radio show Club Life. Simply put, Badisco has mastered echoic soaring synths that thirst for a stadium. Get it on Beatport.
