Albums, Hip-Hop | CJ Trillo – Volume 1: Nostalgia
Posted by LoffyG on November 5, 2013
Nearly 2 years ago one of our writers, W8, introduced me to a very dope and underrated artist that is CJ Trillo. Ever since then, I’ve kept CJ projects in heavy rotation due to his pure lyrical originality and smooth productions, which are for the most part created by his right hand man, Jim IE. Today he released his fourth project, Volume 1: Nostalgia. CJ said that this project is everything in him that he’s wanted to release, but was always too self-conscious to in the past. He’s finally reached the point in his artistic career where he’s grown past the concern of how other people view him. With that being said, he has finally allowed himself to vocalize and create all the ideas and vibes he’s wanted to since he first started rapping back in 2009. Listen and download the full project below and get to know CJ in this recent interview about Volume 1: Nostalgia.

Hip-Hop | Asher Roth – Here To Stay feat. CJ Trillo [Pearly Gates Remix] [Prod. By Jim I.E]
Posted by LoffyG on August 9, 2013
As Asher Roth was preparing to release his recent Greenhouse Effect Vol. 2 mixtape, he dropped an
acapella version of “Pearly Gates” for fans to put to their own production in a chance to win a pro Soundcloud account. Producer Jim I.E and his right hand man and MC, Cj Trillo, went to work on it. Jim created a completely new sound for the song and fit Asher’s vocals into it as if they were there to begin with. To top it off CJ Trillo adds a verse to the song. Their hard work was rewarded as they won the contest. This one is definitely worth a listen.

No worries ya’ll Trill Tuesday, well Wednesday now, is here and CJ Trillo delivers yet another laid back jam produced by his right-hand man, Jim I.E. I really enjoy CJ’s music, to me it’s a fresh breath of air after listening to many of the artists I do because what he brings to the table is a different, unique style, which sets his music apart. Check out his latest project “Heavy” if you like what you hear and catch up with him via his social media outlets below.

Last April I came across CJ Trillo (formerly Sucka Free CJ) and posted his recent single release “Slow It Down”, which was off his upcoming project. Finally we have just that, Heavy. This is Trillo’s third installment in a trilogy of free albums. Each showcasing his individuality and lyrical ability through his music. Tracks like “Comeback Kid”, “The Christening”, “Call This Home”, “Something More”, and “Open”, just to name a few, prove that. If you’re looking for something new I suggest you give this a listen. You can get the download below and check his previous work on his official website.

Hip-Hop | CJ Trillo – Slow It Down (Prod. by Jim I.E.)

A little over a month ago W8 put me on to this guy, CJ Trillo. Previously known as Sucka Free CJ, Trillo began playing guitar and singing back in 2005, when he was only 15. At first he had no intentions of rapping because at heart he had a love for acoustic music. In December of 2010, Trillo released his first hip-hop project known as Ars Gratia Artis. Almost a year later he dropped Trill Life, a mixtape that I’ve had in constant rotation since I first heard it. His next project release is set for July 11th and should be nothing less than quality because through his music you can tell he’s been constantly progressing. This song is a little different then his previously releases so I added some of his older music below to give you a better taste of the variety. Do you think CJ’s flow is nice? Fire off in the comments below.
