Although I’m not usually one for 45 second previews, and I’m certainly not one for posting them here for all of you to read. It’s been on unusually slow week on the blogosphere so I’ll try and brighten it up for all of you. Kids These Days is a group out of Chicago, an region that seems to be becoming the new hotbed for hip-hop talent(Chief Keef excluded). Chicago’s rap game is top notch. With big names like Chief Keef, Chance the Rapper, Kembe X, Lil Reese, and Lil Durk, Chicago is building some of the most promising new up and comers. What we have here is a brand new video from 16 year old, Spenzo. Absolutely murdering this beat, Spenzo shows off his phenomenal flow and nice word play. For all you Hip-Hop people, I’m back with a brand new edition. This is to give you the latest up and comers who have got me playing their stuff 24/7, or something like that. Last time involved some A$AP Rocky, Action Bronson, Phony Ppl, Logic, G-Eazy, Danny Brown, and Skizzy Mars, but I’m back with 5 different artists for your listening pleasure. Without further ado, let’s begin.
1) Chance The Rapper
Chance The Rapper has been on repeat since hearing his 10Day mixtape. Going in on various types of beats, Chance shows his versatility throughout the whole tape and combined together, it makes for one of the best mixtapes of 2012. With a unique voice and a sharp wit, Chance has a style so incomparable to anyone today, which is part of the appeal. Don’t sleep on Chance, he’s gonna be big!
2) Chief Keef
Chief Keef is a touchy subject for most people. A love-hate relationship is a great way to describe him with people. To me, Keef makes some good stuff. Now I know what you’re thinking, “A white kid loves wildin’ out to Chief Keef and his trap musik?”. The answer to that question is, YES, HELL YES I DO. He may not be the best technical rapper, but god does he know how to make some jams, which I guess could be attributed to Young Chop’s success, but nonetheless its awesome. Grab his latest mixtape, and make sure to download 3HUNNA. Next time you’re at a party, throw on some Chief Keef and get crazy.
3) Meek Mill
Okay, so Meek Mill may not be an up and comer, but wow did that Dreamchasers 2 mixtape totally blow my mind. The beats on that thing, in particular the “Amen” one, only made him sound that much better on it. I’m just a fan of everything he does, especially choosing to sign with Rick Ross. After a mixtape like this and an album due out in the Summer, this MMG product is on his way to making an even big name for himself.

And it doesn’t disappoint, even though there’s some trouble in paradise, as the original producer of the song “Young Chop” feels like he’s been given the short end of the stick by musical goliath Kanye West.

Next week, Riff Raff will be signing a 2.7 million dollar deal with Major Lazer’s Diplo. I can’t tell you how many people give me a hard time when I post Riff Raff. What started out as a joke, has become something serious, as Riff Raff has proven himself slowly but surely. You don’t have to like Riff Raff’s music, but you have to respect his hustle. I get it. Diplo gets it. America will get it soon enough.

Dang. I guess his house arrest is not so bad after all. Just under a week after his mixtape, Chief Keef graces us with some brand new material. Tight beat on this one, which obviously Sosa kills. Look back later because this is off Sosa Soulja with Soulja Boy, so the full track most likely has Soulja Boy himself on it. Hit up Sosa on Twitter and Facebook.
