The Aussie Thomas Jack is as it again with the remix game, and he’s either been reading my posts, or he just knows what’s good, cause this remix of Monsters And Men’s record “Little Talks” is exactly what needed to be done. All of these hit indie records deserve the remix treatment: throw some claps on there, some light piano chord progressions, a wind instrument of your choosing, and you can send that straight to the dancefloor. Look forward to catching his live set at Webster Hall October 22nd, on the East Coast leg of his Fall 2013 US tour. Must Listen and Must Download!

Guys, you know how sometimes things go terribly wrong and you end up having to wipe the back of the toilet and/or think about changing your pants but it was clear af like it always is cause you mostly drink water so you don’t have to? Well guess what happened to me a couple minutes ago… I remembered how my gym teacher in the tenth grade said that she liked my hair and I just now realized that she was flirting with me. I’m sure that it’s not even a question as to whether or not she is still into me because I mean why wouldn’t she be. Chicago native Topher Jones is clearly still into Paramore’s “Still Into You”, seeing as how he remixed it a couple days ago and is giving it away for free. Honestly, the production quality of this track isn’t very high. The melody is catchy though and the drop is nice (and obviously the vocals are too), so it makes the cut. Cut is the better option and so is chewing gum loudly with your mouth open right next to me.

Blaz is a producer out of Austin (#ATX baby) who likes to keep it dark, minimal, and borderline analog. “Idiot” is robotic future music of the highest order and “A-Spec” is the kind of track that, if played loudly and on repeat in the dark, will quickly cause you to lose much of your ability to keep track of time. Events | Sunday Of Electric Zoo Canceled Due to “Serious Health Concerns”

Sunday of Electric Zoo has been canceled. If you are reading this and getting ready for the festival, stop and go back to bed because today is not happening. In conjunction with the Mayor’s office, Made Event, agreed to cancel Sunday after 2 people died over the course of Friday and Saturday and at least another 4 became seriously ill and needed to be hospitalized. The cause for the hospitalizations is not known yet, but it is presumed to be MDMA consumption. Before we start pointing fingers and blaming this person and that person, realize that this is a tragedy and two people died, so our hearts and prayers go out to the families and friends of the those who died, and we hope for a speedy recovery for those hospitalized. However, at some point these needless deaths at festivals have got to come to an end and soon because they are going to bring this to a halt.
Made Event has released a statement on the matter:
The founders of Electric Zoo send our deepest condolences to the families of the two people who passed away this weekend. Because there is nothing more important to us than our patrons, we have decided in consultation with the New York City Parks Department that there will be no show today.

It has been roughly four months since my hand slightly grazed my sister’s friend’s thigh. Coincidentally, it has also been about four months since I first heard of The Chainsmokers. Since then, my hand has been many places but none as sweet as that. I have also watched The Chainsmokers grow from two decent looking guys to two excellent looking guys who make awesome music. Their first remix that got my attention was of Jonsi’s “Around Us”. That track… it made me feel for the first time. Sara B, the girl who had a crush on me in eleventh grade, I get you now. The Chainsmokers taught me how to love. Since then I’ve learned to take it, roll it up into a ball, toss it in the air and if there’s not a steady current of wind, I smash that into oblivion.
Picture yourself walking through the city late one night when you see a beautiful girl sitting in a coffee shop eating a plum. She is facing outward toward the street and the store’s walls are glass so you two can see each other. You want to go talk to her but you can’t find the door to get in. Not being able to figure out where the entrance is, you go up to the glass and relentlessly stare at her. Upon closer inspection you realize that she is in fact eating an oddly shaped apple not a plum. “Why are you eating an apple?” you mouth to her. You can hear her say through the glass while turning the apple “no no, this is a plum”. After seeing the flesh of the fruit it is indeed a plum. You then turn around to go home and find $20 on the ground.
The combination of slight disappointment, confusion, and joy that night brings is what I think of their latest remix.
We also had a chance to talk to them about life’s most important questions, such as “If you were to suddenly wake up in the middle of the night for seemingly no reason and upon looking to the nearest wall saw a hole that has never been there before the size of the middle, cardboard part of a roll of toilet paper, would you stick stuff in it?”. Attention iPhone users, come this Independence Day, you guys might be a little salty. According to Samsung, they will be giving the brand spanking new album from Sean Carter (Jay-Z) himself to the owners of the Galaxy smartphone for free. You read that correctly. I’m not sure which one is bigger news, the egregious marketing attempt by Samsung, or the album itself. Anywho, it definitely has my cosign…and I’m an iPhone user! Check back soon cause I’m sure some of the singles will be releasing soon. Big things from Hov and the Roc comin soon.
