Electro-House | Bass Physics – Keep the Party Live
Posted by CHAZZZ on December 12, 2012
If you need some funky electronic jams to chill out to this week, Bass Physics is your answer. This duo has been coming up quickly in Colorado playing with names such as Minnesota & Zion I, Radical Something, and Savoy (Feb 2013). These guys are producing some of the best funky electronic jams I’ve heard in a while. Sick electro-house accompanied by live guitar (think Big Gigantic but guitar), Bass Physics is sure to be a standout act soon. Contests, Events, Indie | AUSTIN CITY LIMITS 2012 RECAP
Posted by mimada on October 17, 2012
Austin City Limit’s promising lineup resulted in a weekend that was, without a question, one for the books. The sold-out festival denied no music lover. From toddlers on their parents’ shoulders to fist pumping grandpas, hippies carrying flags made out of bras to Natalie Portman and Ryan Gosling, the experience was as enticing to see as it was to hear. In the time that I wasn’t chowing down on truffle mac and cheese and watermelon topped with warm goat cheese and Pop Rocks (yes, it’s a real thing), or indulging in unicorn Texas T-shirts, I managed to witness some of today’s, but also yesterday’s, most impressive musicians. Every performance left me in a state of awe, thinking it must be true what they say in the South: God blessed Texas.
Dubstep, Electro | Big Gigantic – NOCTURNAL (Free Album)
Posted by Mach on January 11, 2012
I have been wondering when Big Gigantic would make a big release like this. They have a style similar to Pretty Light, but I love how the saxophone give Big Gigantic a jazzier feel, rather than Pretty Lights’ hip-hop background provides him. I was expecting to hear a lot of similar tracks through this album but then I came across It’s Going Down, which seems to start simple enough until it drops with lasers similar to use in Alvin Risk’s style. Even Stronger provides a little bit of flavor at the end of the album. I really love The Uprising though, the whole track is just one big build up, taking you through many layers before the main drop of the track, which is awesome within itself . My top 5 tracks of the album are The Uprising, Rise and Shine, Nocturnal, It’s Going Down, and Eyes Closed. Make sure you check Big Gigantic out on their FACEBOOK.
