Totally unrelated to this dubstep post but I saw Avicii last night and it was unreal. He played a whole host of unreleased songs including one or two that don’t have previews or have only been played live. He killed the encore with a Bromance remix that destroyed the floor. On to the music. Here is a Dillon Francis remix that he put up on his soundcloud a few days ago without a download and then took it down for some reason a day later, but the mp3 surfaced in the past day or two. It’s pretty nasty.

This song has a lot of house elements in it and some nice womps. It is so smooth as the vocals and beat just flow so well.

Here are two pretty recent tracks from Butch Clancy. The first throws in some filthy bass and is heavier, while the second is a little more subdued, but has great vocals and some awesome drops.

This is outrageous. The fact that Flo-Rida aka the king of kings when it comes to club bangers threw a verse down on Levels is borderline monumental for Avicii. Unfortunately this could be bad news for some of us who’d hate to see the young producer cave for the mainstream pop artists. With that said, I don’t think he’ll be letting anyone interfere with the integrity of his sound anytime soon. While this version leaves a bit to be desired it’s still a worthwhile listen and perhaps even a worthwhile addition to your music library if you’re looking for a spiced up version of the original. I’ll be patiently waiting for the official release before passing any more judgement.

Armin is the man and he just released a remix CD of Mirage that has some very good remixes on it. Some of you may think it is blasphemous to remix Armin, but give these remixes a chance. You already know and have the Avicii remix of Drowning, so I will get to the other releases on this album. Here five highlights from the 30 song CD. The entire thing is really good and well put together, which you can expect from Armin. If you like these then also check out the Dash Berlin 4am remix of Not Giving Up On Love and both remixes of I Don’t Own You by The Thrillseekers and Andy Moor. Oh yea, there is a new track.

The original club mix of Penguin leaked a few days ago through a promo cd (as seen above) but I waited to see if the vocal would leak with it as well, but it hasn’t so I couldn’t hold onto this. If you don’t have this song already hurry and download it, but if you already have it and want a better version then don’t wait. Props to my boy T for this.
