Progressive House | Arty – Together We Are (Remixes)
Posted by Middy on March 18, 2013
With the original mix finally getting its release last month, Arty tabs some some hot in demand up and comers to remix his colossal single. Audien switches up the reverbed piano for a more synth laden approach, not straying too much from the melodic structure of the original and adding his own spin on the track. Norwegians, Carl Louis & Martin Danielle continue to display their strong progressive talents with this remix, adding their own synth line to the track, making it their own. Coming off of their epic 6 track “Metropolis Pt. II” EP, The M Machine provide a very different style of remix that you can only expect from them with a jarring low end, while still remaining true to the melody of the original.
For you purists out there, the instrumental mix is also included in this batch of remixes. Coming up next for Arty is the release of “Grand Final” on Ministry of Sound this April or May and also hopefully sometime soon the original mix of “When I See You” because Alesso butchered that track.
Progressive House | Zaa ft. Molly Bancroft – Timebomb (Audien Remix)

Audien has been a busy man this year, starting with his chart topping single “Wayfarer“, his single with Michael S. “Leaving You“, his remix for Tommy Sunshine and the Disco Fries and now another remix, this time for Mexican producer Jorge Munoz Mancilla under his Zaa moniker with Molly Bancroft who recently struck gold with Andrew Bayer on “Keep Your Secrets”. Audien provides us with an uplifting, piano driven melody, making the most of Molly Bancroft’s outstanding vocals. This remix shows the more uplifting and progressive side of Audien’s sound as another example of wide range and diversity of what he can put together.

Progressive House | Tommie Sunshine & Disco Fries feat. Kid Sister – Cool Without You (Audien Remix)

Savvy vet and outspoken defender of the younger generation of dance music fans, Tommie Sunshine teamed up with fellow New Yorkers Disco Fries and Chicago vocalist Kid Sister on the funky house track “Cool Without You” on Australian Records. The remix package was recently released and of those on there the Audien’s remix stands out with its ability to take advantage of the vocals and add exquisite piano in the build, quick grungy electro stabs and deft key play — all while still keeping the funky feel of the original. Audien has been on a tear lately and with his rate of quality tracks showing no signs of slowing, he is sure to have a great 2013.

Progressive House | Audien ft. Michael S. – Leaving You

Audien follows up his massive single on Anjunabeats “Wayfarer” with a new single on the progressive branch of Armin van Buuren’s Armada Recordings, Zouk Recordings. This may not be Audien’s most groundbreaking work, but the addictive piano driven melody and vocals from Michael S. come together on this feel good track that I dare you not to hit repeat on. With recent productions like “Sup” and Wayfarer”, Audien continues to show his prowess and versatility as a young producer and even in the cheesier realm of dance music, he manages to create a track well worth your time.

Compilation | FreshNewTracks 13 EDM Artists to Watch in 2013
Posted by Middy on January 18, 2013
The New Year has come and gone and we have recapped the madness of 2012, so now it is time to look ahead to 2013. Two music mondays have passed, so we have had a small taste of what to expect from this fresh year, but we are here to steer your wayward watches towards 13 bright stars who are going to be making some serious noise in 2013. These are in no particular order.
Trance | Audien – Wayfarer

With his second full Anjunabeats release (inspired by the sunglasses of the same name), Audien proves that he is without question someone to keep an eye on in 2013. “Wayfarer” premiered on the first episode of Above & Beyond Group Therapy — when Jono, Paavo and Tony dropped it live in Bangalore — and it’s easy to see why they chose it as their opening song. Bright gated synths and a groovy hook make this an indisputable feel-good jam, along the lines of what we’d expect to see from Arty or Sunny Lax. Audien may be a newcomer to the scene but I am definitely already loving his sound.

Trance | Jaytech – Multiverse

With the full single package for the title track off of Jaytech’s recent artist album, Above & Beyond and the Anjuna team continue to prove that they’re willing to push the boundaries of trance. “Multiverse” in its original incarnation is a funky, deep house-inflected jam; the club mix maintains that sound and adds some heft to the bassline, while Audien brings in big, euphoric synths to the breakdown. Expect to see heavy support for this remix from other Anjuna artists — Audien is definitely one to watch in 2013. Rounding out the package is Russian up-and-comer Mimax, who gives the track a fresh, progressive vibe thanks to a new hook.
