DJ-Set, Progressive House | Shinedown – Unity (Matisse & Sadko Remix)
Posted by Middy on July 31, 2012
Rising Russian duo, Matisse & Sadko have released their remix of Shinedown’s hit single “Unity” on Atlantic Records. They have a knack for making joyful, uplifting House that does not tire on your ears and this song is no different. Everything from the blissful piano melody to the playful guitar melody accentuating Shinedown’s vocals and a bass line with elements from their remix of “Beating Of My Heart” continues their trend of making big progressive house tracks. Matisse & Sadko have had an outstanding year so far not only with their remixes but also with “Trio” under their belts as well. The future looks as bright as a solar eclipse for these guys, so stay tuned for more from them.
Also included in the package is a heavy Dubstep remix from Liquid Stranger and a Progressive House remix from Steve Lade with a bit of a different sound, though Matisse & Sadko stands alone on this package. Below is their July Promo Mix, which includes some of the best tracks of late July including their “Unity” remix and some upcoming tracks like the massive Redlight – Lost In Your Love, set to release August 6th. Tracklist after the jump.

So rumor has it that Lupe was originally supposed to be on Airplanes, but the high executives at Atlantic Records gave it to Bobby Ray, just like they did with Nothing On You. I’m gonna go ahead and assume that he was pretty pissed about that…

The beat to this song is awesome, it has a slight old school West Coast feel to it…not to mention that Game and Breezy kill it.

According to his Twitter, Roth set up a mic at his apartment so expect more new music from him in the near future.

A few days ago, I received a Facebook message which contained the photo posted above. The caption read: “Imitating images of SweetE on a beach in Jamica.” This kid clearly has his mind right…thinking of SweetE while simultaneously repping Fresh New Tracks in paradise (#winning).
Lupe Fiasco has attracted plenty of attention lately with “Lasers.” He’s spoken out against his label, Atlantic Records, in many interviews. In an attempt to quell Lupe’s artistic creativity, Atlantic instructed him to, “Not rap too deep.” “I am a hostage,” Lupe noted in an interview with the Chicago-Sun Times. “I gave them [Atlantic Records] what they wanted. If I didn’t, at the end of the day the album wasn’t coming out.”
Lupe has received wide support for remaining vocal about such frustrations. XV has shown his own support for Lupe’s “Lasers” by releasing a freestyle track in which he goes hard over Lupe’s “Words I Never Said” instrumental. XV will open for Wiz Khalifa, Lupe Fiasco and Cee Lo Green at SXSW on March 17th.

BONUS SPRING BREAK TRACK:
Spring Break is just around the corner. If you’re headed to Panama, or need another cheesy track to go along with your daily dose of binge drinking, download the track below. With lyrics like: “If you’re gunna’ black out, drink what’s in your glass now, do it till’ you pass out–live it up in Panama,” you know it’s a Spring Break anthem.

RnB | Sid Sriram- Be Easy, Acoustic Sessions (EP)
Posted by Juicebox on October 4, 2010
When Sid Sriram hit me with his EP, I was impressed. I’m really not one that’s into acoustic music. Sid, however, really caught my attention. I spoke to Sid today and I got a little bit of his intriguing personal story. Sid is originally from India and is currently interning at Atlantic Records. Eventually, he moved to the states and found himself in Los Angeles where he currently resides. When I asked him to describe his sound he told me that was essentially and admixture between R&B and Indie, which in my opinion, speak volumes about his unique style and voice.
Although Sid has been singing since he was only four years old, he’s been waiting until now to share his voice with the world. That being said, Fresh New Tracks is proud to exclusively present, Sid Sriram’s debut project, “Be Easy, Acoustic Soul Sessions”. Be sure to hit the jump to check out his siiick covers of Drake’s “Find Your Love” and Travis McCoy’s “Billionaire” below.
