House, Techno | Bailey Smalls – Trouble
Posted by Mach on February 6, 2013
Ultra isn’t too far away from now and getting in the Miami house spirit is Bailey Smalls with a fresh new original. “Trouble,” the kind we may be getting into in Miami this year. Bailey has created monster, all that is missing from this track are a few lasers and some fog machines. Loud and proud, this track belts a ravers fantasy.

House, Techno | Georgia Fair – My New Home (Talul Remix)

Tech-House rarely ever gets posted on FNT. This remix from Talul contains a little more of an experimental side. About 2 minutes in you are already feeling the remix and then the vocals finally break in. This just turned out to be an incredible, laid back track.
Albums, Review, Techno | Boys Noize – Out Of The Black
Posted by Middy on October 14, 2012
German Techno maestro Alex Ridha, better known as Boys Noize is back after an extended touring hiatus to work on his first album since “Power” in 2009 and presents us his 3rd artist album “Out Of The Black”. Fresh off of his collaboration with Skrillex, Boys Noize returns to the sound that has made him so revered in the dance music community, combining a unique mixture of churning bass lines with techno and acid influences, french house, elements of dubstep, hip hop and more ambient elements. It is clash of the dark brooding beats mixing with the lighter, more experimental sounds.
The album starts with singles “What You Want” and “XTC” that have become quiet favorites among many producers, notably “XTC” with their chugging bass lines and eclectic club nature. “Ich R U” has a stark similarity to his huge single “Yeah” in the progression with a twist of acid elements. The album moves through selections that alternate between the darker, brooding tracks and lighter more experimental pieces, going back and forth between the pieces that have become the staple of the Boys Noize techno sound like “Merlin” and more experimental like “Circus Full Of Clowns” that utilizes elements of dubstep and hip hop. The album nears its finish with “Got It” featuring Snoop Dogg, which I was initially skeptical of, but the blend of Boys Noize’s grungy bass and Snoop’s lyrical dexterity come together marvelously.
This album is forward thinking dance music that draws from a dizzying number of different genres. Boys Noize takes all of these different styles, adds his German genius to them and churns out this dark, frenetic album that is accessible to people of all tastes. Artists are criticized for changing their sound or for not evolving their sound enough and Boys Noize has found that middle ground of sticking to his dark techno roots with a good portion of the album, while also experimenting with lighter elements of dance music to evolve and expand the arsenal of tracks in Boys Noize’s personal arsenal. Techno | Dog Blood – Middle Finger EP

The first product of the Skrillex/Boys Noize collaboration has dropped on Boysnoize Records, and I will begin by saying that I’m feeling the hell out of these tracks. Props to Skrillex for changing it up and consistently doing exactly what he wants (questionable movie soundtrack deals and trailers for Ben Stiller movies notwithstanding) — this definitely represents a new (though not wholly surprising) direction for the 24 year-old that in some ways seems like a logical follow-up to his recent pair of Birdy Nam Nam remixes. These are dark, taut tracks that combine the hypnotic elements of Boys Noize’s forte, acid house, with the energy, playfulness, and deceptive simplicity we’ve come to associate with Skrillex. If you’ve ever had any doubts about Sonny Moore’s production chops, take these for a spin — you may be surprised. And if you’re a fan of Boys Noize and live life in the underground, this EP will be right up your alley.

Electro-House, Techno | Boys Noize – XTC (Original Mix & MMM Remix)
Posted by Spice on August 7, 2012
German legend Boys Noize has finally dropped his highly anticipated track “XTC,” which is hard-hitting, minimal electro at its best. Those repetitious and wonderfully robotic synths were tailor made to get you in the zone during the wee hours at a dark basement dance club (and let’s not forget about the vocals…). Included with this release is an even more minimalist techno remix from MMM, which augments the almost sinister, spacey vibe of the original. This is classic, underground-ready stuff that hints at Boys Noize’s acid house roots.
House, Techno | Gus Gus – Within You (Lulu Rouge Remix)

House and techno are a match made in heaven. The duo Lulu Rouge are mainly known for their strictly techno styled tracks, but seemed to have branched out a bit with this remix. The track is basically a giant build up, and the vocals from Gus Gus sound incredible over the beat that Lulu Rouge created.
