Fresh off his spring tour, Kap Slap has just made everyones summer with the announcement of a new bimonthly hour mix series entitled the “Slapcast.” Since Kap Slap started a new page in his career transitioning to original material, many of us were left concerned we’d never see his unsurpassed signature style bootlegs again. Luckily, Kap Slap has answered our prayers and released his latest mix, which features those bootlegs we love oh so much. Cashmere Cat, for reasons other than being a fellow cat lover, is one of my absolute favorites right meow. I’ve been a fan of everything he’s been putting out so I was even more stoked when I got to indulge in an entire hour of his sweet sounds on this episode of Diplo & Friends radio. He does an astounding job of bouncing (literally, check the mattress squeaking motif) from hip hop to hot beats to trap and experimental noises and manages to keep the listener engaged throughout. Some highlights include his own personal tracks, Mirror Maru (2:55) and Kiss Kiss (18:20), throwbacks like the Men in Black theme (34:40), and a witty surprise in the middle of Justin Timberlake’s Señorita (9:50).

I’m usually not a fan of listening to long mixes, but whenever you’re dealing with an artist who has no original releases under his name and is so exclusive, but somehow manages to have one of the craziest fan followings it’s hard to not post it. SPACE LACES is probably one of the biggest up and coming artist in the EDM scene, whether you knew about him a while ago, or are just learning about him this is just the beginning. This artist creates everything from nu-disco, to glitch, to dirty electro, all the way to the heaviest dubstep tracks you have ever imagined. People who follow him get up everyday just hoping for a release from this one of a kind artist. I would recommend everyone check him out because it is only a matter of time before his name is everywhere in the EDM world.

Mix | DJ Trademark – Over The Top Mix

DJ Trademark follows up his New Years Eve Mix with his latest hour long mix of electro bangers entitled, “Over The Top Mix.” It really is an art when someone can take 20+ songs ranging all across the board and turn it into a seamlessly blended hour long piece of work.
