Ok so some of these are technically bootlegs, but Middy’s bootlegs does not sound nearly as good as Middy’s mashups. I am in that picture somewhere in the front right. It was taken by Chuckie after his set and this is a bootleg he made for Identity.

Here is a mashup from Romain G, who mashes the popular Nicky Romero remix of Flash by Green Velvet with Flashback and Awooga from Calvin Harris and Axwell’s remix of In the Air.

This is the latest mashup from Kaskade and this is one of his best. It probably deserves its own post but this post needs to be amazing. The mashup takes Don’t Stop Dancing and adds Kissing from Alex Gaudino, which gives the beat that little extra that may have been missing in the original.

This is a bootleg of the classic A-Trak remix of Heads Will Roll and Zero 76. The transitions are great and has been supported by many DJs including Tiesto and Martin Solvieg.

Just when you think Kap Slap can’t get any better, he goes ahead and mashes Lazy Rich’s “Better Wipe That Up” (hence the paper towels reference) with some Brittney Spears and a little Deadmau5. If you like to party, you probably like Kap Slap.

Several mashup sub-genres are emerging as this type of music becomes increasingly more popular and artists are forced to innovate to compete. Originally, you had your classic 1 v 1 mashers who just needed to be able to put things together like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Nowadays, more and more artists are cooking up In N Out burger double doubles, 3 by 3s, and 4 by 4s. We’ve reached a point where choosing toppings makes or breaks a project. On one hand you have the artist who likes to completely flip the sound of a song by blending two unlike tracks together. These are normally “chill” and “neat” songs but sometimes they leave a little to be desired. On the other hand, we have artists like DJ Trademark who time and time again, hit us with mashup BANGERS that redefine the way we listen to our favorite top 40 tracks. And to spice things up even more, he even puts together mashup visuals so he’s stimulating both your eyes and ears. Watch out everyone, DJ Trademark will be taking this fall by storm.

With another summer-ending week down the drain, comes another installment of DOSVEC’s Sucka Free Sunday which always features a track you didn’t know you needed. “Milky Way In The Dark” is the product of a song I’ve been hogging for a few months combined with the genius skills and ear of DOSVEC. When I came across the original I didn’t want to post it on FNT because it begged for vocals. After toying with multiple combinations, this landed in my inbox and stole my heart. This right here is a straight up Girl Fire banger that’ll get you laid ten out of ten times.

I would say that most of the mashups which make their way into our emails these days are coming from the US college scene. Therefore it is refreshing to see some dope mashups from Logo, who hails from Melbourne, Australia. As expected, Logo focuses on mixing and matching house tracks to create some truly unique mashes which feature Guetta, SHM, Avicii, Bart B More, Kaskade, and more. As DJ Fergie Ferg pointed out in an email last week, we’ve been longtime fans of his work and, yet, after all of this time we’ve failed to truly link up on a project. Well, he sure knows how to make an entrance because I don’t think I could hand pick better songs than the ones posted below. And how could we resist turning these two tracks into a FNT mini-mixtape. I’m a sucker for Beach Boys and I’m a sucker for old school Jay Z, so naturally “Good Vibrizzos” is my favorite cut.
