Electro-House | Sander van Doorn & Julian Jordan – Kangaroo

Posted by on August 20, 2012

This song has all the hallmarks of Julian Jordan’s heavy electro house style with Sander van Doorn almost acting as the master making sure all of the pieces are properly put in place. Sander van Doorn is an adaptable producer, as shown from his shift from trance to house, however this is such an abrupt change from his previous productions that the break had to have come from the young 17 year old Julian Jordan. It is heavy, like punch to the gut heavy, as it starts with an easy going melody and steady bass line that does not prepare you for the high pitched synths, growling undertones and thumping bass that barrel down on you in the break.

Electro-House, Trance | Above & Beyond – Sun & Moon (Gazzo Remix)

Posted by on August 17, 2012

Gazzo is back again this week, and just in time to kick off the weekend. This remix is very different from what I was expecting a Trance and Electro-House blend to be. The build up is lengthy, but well worth the dutch like drop. Once that comes in, the party really gets started. A perfect remix for a steamed up dance floor this weekend.

Electro-House, Progressive House | Lift Off #003

Posted by on August 17, 2012

It has been a little while since the last Lift Off, but me and w8 are back with a vengeance this week with a post jam packed with great tracks from some of the most underrated producers out there and some incredible free tracks that labels should be salivating to get their hands on.

Marco V has released his latest track “10PM”, which by the sound of it, would be good at 10pm or at 3am with its big room build and the club oriented breakdown.

Beatport: Marco V – 10PM

Ken Loi delivers on this remix taking the original that was a little bland and adding a grinding electro bit to the drop with an moving piano motif in the build.

Tom Swoon is back with the preview to his remix of Linkin Park – Burn It Down, which you can get right now if you pre-order “Living Things Remixed”. It provides a progressive, melodic side to this dark track that works very well.

This next track is very interesting as it was first previewed I believe intentionally by management as an Avicii fake (pr releases brag about the clicks on the video of the fake), however there is no denying how good this song is.

Beatport: Mr. Black & Blue – Get It On

Synchronice give this great Subfocus track a makeover, keeping the melodic piano build with vocals and turning the break into some heavy electro house bringing the energy up to a whole new level. One of those tracks you will regret not getting.

Electro, Electro-House | La’Reda — Solara EP [FNT Exclusive]

Posted by on August 16, 2012

La’Reda is duo that I have been following for a few months now and their work and progression over the months is what led me to want to release this amazing EP by them. I haven’t been hearing too much Electro-House that has appealed to me in the past few months except for the crazy tracks these guys have been creating. They use some distorted, bass-bumping synths that always keep their work lively and exciting.

The first track on the EP, The Aquarian has a stunning melody accompanied with some uplifting chords and trance pads during the intro. Gradually advancing it’s way slowly to the unique Electro overdriven drop. Their next track entitled Solara has to be one of my favorite works from them. The uplifting tempo and feeling through the track just makes for a great live track. The vocals alongside the melody in this track also make the track that much better. The last track, One Wild Ride,  is more of a darker, bouncy sounding track unlink anything I have heard in Electro-House. At parts the melody gives off a positive, graceful vibe, but the drop just makes you feel as though you are in a deep dark rave with no choice but to dance. As a special gift the boys decided to give us a track that was released on iTunes today as a free download for all the FNT fans exclusively. All the tracks can be found for DL through their Facebook or just click the Soundclouds download link to get them all.

Electro-House | Magnus & Timon – Triangle

Posted by on August 9, 2012

French producers Magnus & Timon have developed a small but significant stable of quality progressive house remixes of recent hits like The Temper Trap’s “Trembling Hands“, “Walking Alone” and more. For their first original, they decided to go a different route. They start off with what sounds to be another uplifting progressive track with an excellent vocal bit, but it drops off into break of a heavy, but not overwhelming dose of a grungy massive pack, giving the track a whole new dimension and giving a taste of the diversity in these young guy’s sound.

Electro-House, Techno | Boys Noize – XTC (Original Mix & MMM Remix)

Posted by on August 7, 2012

German legend Boys Noize has finally dropped his highly anticipated track “XTC,” which is hard-hitting, minimal electro at its best. Those repetitious and wonderfully robotic synths were tailor made to get you in the zone during the wee hours at a dark basement dance club (and let’s not forget about the vocals…). Included with this release is an even more minimalist techno remix from MMM, which augments the almost sinister, spacey vibe of the original. This is classic, underground-ready stuff that hints at Boys Noize’s acid house roots.

Electro-House | will.i.am ft. Eva Simons – This Is Love (Afrojack Remix)

Posted by on August 7, 2012

The Steve Angello produced single “This is Love” from will.i.am and Eva Simons was bound to have to have some heavy hitters come to the rescue and elevate it to its full potential. The original was a pop song through and through and served its purpose as a radio friendly song, but that is not Steve Angello’s calling card. Afrojack brings his heavy dutch / electro style to the track, mixing flawlessly high pitched dutch bleeps and grungy electro stabs. Coming off of hit track “Rock The House“, Afrojack is showing that despite unleashing the monster that is Paris Hilton onto the dance music world, his legacy will remain unblemished due to his prolific output of great productions. Also check out the James Egbert remix that takes a more complextro spin with big room interludes.
