Electro-House | Silver Medallion – Stay Young (GTA Remix)
Posted by Jess on September 11, 2012
With the “Stay Young” music video reaching over 100k views in little over a week and the song getting steady rotation on radio across the country, Silver Medallion decided to release GTA’s epic remix of the track for free. The acclaimed duo, Miami’s Van Toth and JWLS, took the “Stay Young” vocal and turned it from a Pop/EDM singalong to a huge big room house destroyer that reminds me a bit like a Swedish House Mafia track. Along with the release, a short video edit by CFLO for the remix was released as well. Download the track for free below and blast it loud. R.I.P. to former Silver Medallion member Abay “Carnegie” Lattin who was tragically killed by a drunk driver two years from today.

Electro-House | Nicky Romero & Calvin Harris – Iron
Posted by Middy on September 11, 2012
After launching his new label Protocol Recordings with the successful single “WTF”, Nicky Romero zags Scottish do it all producer, singer / songwriter, and DJ, Calvin Harris to usher in his second Protocol release “Iron”. While similarities have been drawn to Alesso’s upcoming release “Clash”, one must keep in mind that Alesso has changed that song a few times and these tracks are worked on over the span of months, making it hard to really determine who made the progression first. No one made a big stink about Zedd & W&W’s similar sounding “Shotgun” tracks that were released around the same time. Controversy aside, this track is a superb effort from Nicky Romero who is always looking to push the boundaries of dance music and create new sounds. Calvin Harris steps aside from the production side of things and steps in front of the mic as we were used to seeing him do with his early work.
Electro-House | Schoolboy – Aftershock + Exclusive Interview + Video Premiere
Posted by Sev on September 11, 2012
An FNT favorite, Schoolboy, has just changed pace on his latest release taking a detour from his usual Dubstep tracks to a new colossal original Electro-House track. We have been following Schoolboy for quite some time now and seeing him progress has been a pleasure and finally being able to interview this amazing artist was a privilege (which can be found by clicking on the ‘Read On’ link), but we will get to that after the track.
With the premiere of his crazy spazmatic video of his newest work, Aftershock , Schoolboy is putting himself more and more on the map for the EDM scene. The track has a nice horror, 8-bit sounding intro that fits the mood for the track well. The build up leading to the heavy, growl influenced drop is bass filled enough to send any crowd into a craze, but at the same time tasteful enough to be able to dance to. It always nice to see artist expand out of their comfort zone and be able to conquer other genres as well as put together a full visual production to go along with it. Be sure to show your support and grab this awesome Subhuman release off of Beatport HERE.
Before you head off, click the ‘Read On’ link below to learn a little bit more about Schoolboy and what he had to say when we got the chance to talk with him.

Electro-House | Firebeatz & Schella – Dear New York
Posted by Middy on September 10, 2012
Firebeatz and Schella team up to bring us what was possibly the anthem of Electric Zoo this past Labor Day “Dear New York” as their ode to the Big Apple. Firebeatz have had a very busy 2012 cranking out remixes and originals and with this heavily supported track, they cap off the summer season with a bang. Sampling the Beastie Boys, a task not to be done lightly, Firebeatz & Schella bring out a varying bass line sure to get you moving with a matching chord progression that crescendoes into a drop of grinding saws, not unlike “Metropolis” that furnishes an edge and energy to give the track traction well into the fall.

Electro-House | Clinton Sparks ft. Mike Posner- IDKurName
Posted by A on September 5, 2012

After the success Clinton Spark’s “Ambiguous” featuring Mike Posner and Big Sean, the dynamic duo team up once again to release, “IDKUR Name,” an anthem all too familiar after a long night of raging. Posner’s silky-smooth, “I don’t know your name, you don’t remember mine do you?” combined with Clinton’s powerful production details the inevitable amalgam of awkwardness that often unfolds the next morning when waking up from last night’s party. Stock up on Vitamin Water and Plan B, the video is coming soon.
Electro-House | Swanky Tunes – Blood Rush
Posted by Middy on September 4, 2012
As the first release on their own label “Showland”, like their successful radio show, Swanky Tunes have decided to use this inaugural milestone to reveal the hard hitting acid infused “Blood Rush”. The veteran Russian trio utilizes the usually obnoxious horn sound well with a slowed down interlude with a varied bass line that creates a great anticipation for the big drop of electro saws and a thumping bass line. Swanky Tunes have really emerged as one of the premier house assets in the world with each release becoming staples in sets of the world’s top DJs.
