So FNT Resident DJ, DJ JurisDoc, decided to record his set from last Tuesday’s Timeflies The Scotch Tape album release party. DJ-Set | Swedish House Mafia Essential Selection

This mix absolutely absurd. It is all three of them in the studio sitting in for the legendary Pete Tong during his Friday night Essential Mix. They do the essential tunes section of it, in which they play the much anticipated Swedish House Mafia & Knife Party Collaboration called “Antidote” (UPDATED with radio rip), this song is searing hot. They also go on to play new tracks from Thomas Gold, Dirty South and Those Usual Suspects, Matisse & Sadko vs Arty possibly and more. They do talk a lot and this can be annoying if you want 2 hours of music to rage to, but you also get to know them as people better and they are actually kind of funny together. The last section is called “Swedish House Mafia vs. Swedish House Mafia”, where they play tracks from up and coming stars such as Thomas Gold and Alesso, as well as playing their favorite chill tracks. DJ-Set, Events | Electric Zoo Recap & Sets

The EDM beast that broke out of its cage at Electric Zoo had a similar effect as the Bronx Cobra, which had the entire city of New York captivated. Although this event wasn’t putting any lives at risk per se, the crowds, which were hardly distinguishable from animals, could hardly be tamed. Yet that’s to be expected when the likes of Afrojack, Tiesto, Guetta, Armin, Skrillex, Alesso, Hardwell, amongst countless other powerful DJ’s are on stages fortified by walls of massive lights.
As I mentioned in my last concert review, if the large crowds and expensive ticket prices intimidate you enough to avoid these festivals, you’ll be kicking yourself in a few years when it’s no longer acceptable or as fun for you to attend. Sure, it might cost you a few hundred bucks to catch all three days, but those memories will be priceless in the end, I promise.
Will call, line speeds, and security checks are always the first sign of a properly run event. Electric Zoo earned an “A” in this department as it took roughly 15 minutes to clear everything. Since I’m not a New York native, I opted out of the affiliated transportation options and took taxis, but it did look really well organized.
Since Electric Zoo featured numerous big name acts, I’m going to break this review down into a few sections: favorite performance, crowd favorite, best up and comer, and honorable mentions.

JurisDoc has been dropping exclusive weekly DJ Sets with us every week, and his past ones can be found in the sidebar. After a brief hiatus last week, JurisDoc is back with a fury. According to the man himself:
Make sure on this one that you it all the way through because Fareoh’s Buy My Love remix is towards the end and that is by far the best song on the mix.
