On Friday night, BBC Radio One had a special show from Hull in England with Pete Tong’s Essential Selection show that included a spectacular 20 minute guest set from Madeon, included below, as well as a bonus 4 hours of Essential Mixes from Chuckie, Porter Robinson, Fedde Le Grand (not recorded) and Judge Jules to finish off a marathon night at Hull. Chuckie puts together a fantastic set with some of his new stuff such as his upcoming single “Together”, with his impeccable ability as a live Dj and great song selection. The mix that really stood out for me was Porter Robinson because as his is such as good live Dj, which seems to be a lost art these days and as a 19 year old, it is even more impressive. He is able to flawlessly mix together multiple songs, two or three or more at time, to create ridiculous bootlegs that will always keep you on your toes with a fantastic song selection. We usually do not post podcasts of artists here, but this one from Sebastian Ingrosso is too good not to. The first episode of what should be soon one of the top podcasts around, Sebastian Ingrosso plays numerous tracks from his label, Refune Records, as well as unreleased tracks such as the anthemic masterpiece from Ivan Gough, Feenixpawl and Georgi Kay “In My Mind”, Otto Knows’ Million Voices, which now has a release date of FEBRUARY 8th and a new track from Sebastian Ingrosso, Steve Angello AND Alesso (See video above). Ingrosso puts together a podcast not only with new tracks, but also some classics and tracks he has been playing recently that have been working really well for him out. Dirty South calls in to play “Eyes Wide Open” and we will be hearing gossip about Djs around the world next episode, as well as the vocal version “Calling”, so make sure to tune in next month. Ferry Corsten previews another single to be released February 24th, from his much anticipated up coming album “WKND” that features his collaboration with Armin van Buuren “Brute”
Though this song may be more of a house song than a trance song because of its 128 bpm and its sound, it is still a massive remix. An easy build with sensitive female vocals drops suddenly into an energetic, pulsing, pitched synth break. The vocals are addictive and the energy in the song is incredible. Get it on BEATPORT.
DOWNLOAD: Matt Darey feat. Leah – Hold Your Breath (Khomha Remix)
This next remix from Duderstadt has been much supported from industry leaders like of Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten and Above & Beyond. It takes the widely successful track from Markus and mixes in an uplifting synth melody with a varying bass beat. Anjunabeats finally has finally released the single version of this amazing track from Casey Keyworth or Breakfast or just Keyworth from the Anjunabeats Vol 9. compilation. It has a very relaxed, smooth, almost ambient feel to it with some nice sax, a great bass and kick, and very quiet, sensitive synths. Beat Service is back to start 2012 after their massive remix of “Human Turbines” in 2011. This one is very close to being just as good. It has that hard synth that has become so popular in trance these days with well timed use of the female vocals on the track from Fisher and adding a little extra to the bass and synth to the create amazing, uplifting drops Beat Service is so good at making.
