DJ-Set, Progressive House | Benji Ft. Sherry St. Germain – Steel Eyes
Posted by Middy on July 12, 2012
Musical Freedom, much like Tiesto likes to pick up and support upcoming artists as seen with recent releases like “Out Of Control” and “All It Takes” and now with a single from talented Canadian producer Benji. Sherry St. Germain provides soothing vocals over an acoustic guitar melody in a build that crescendos into a drop of an uplifting synth melody, a driving clap and a rising synth. Great production overall with cleverly crafted melodies. Also included is a free promo mix done by Benji with some of the latest hits including the aforementioned “Steel Eyes”. Tracklist after the jump.

DJ-Set, House, Videos | Get Weird in the Studio with Pierce Fulton + Radio Show EP # 002
Posted by Middy on July 10, 2012
Pierce Fulton takes us on a tour of his studio in Vermont with the various instruments that he has such as guitars, drums and more abstract things such as a Peter Frampton talk box, of which he makes a sample from, and more contemporary instruments useful for producing electronic music. You get to see his creative process and some behind the scenes of how his upcoming remix for Steve Aoki was made. We also get to hear a very short preview of an upcoming original, so stay tuned for that.
Also included is the 2nd episode of this monthly radio show “Get Weird” on Tiesto’s channel “Club Life” on Sirius XM. The show gives you a different feel from most podcasts with a tracklist that spans from progressive to techno to tech with very little talking, maximizing the amount of music. We also get to hear his upcoming remix for Steve Aoki feat. Polina – Come With Me, which is going to be big.
DJ-Set, House | Fehrplay – Incognito / Runaway
Posted by Middy on July 5, 2012
Fehrplay is another fantastic addition to Eric Prydz’s label, Pryda Friends that has seen an uptick in activity with new signings and releases not just from the label chief himself with the monumental release of his “Eric Prydz Presents: Pryda”, but also with Jeremy Olander, Fehrplay and more. Fehrplay gives us that sound that we have come to expect and love from Pryda and his label. It is a refreshing change of pace now where the trends have moved towards heavier and heavier bass and many of the same types of progressive melodies rule the charts. If you want a change a pace from your normal hits (nothing wrong with those, I love them too) and are into this sound, this is definitely something you will want to get. Also check out the second EPIC radio episode that includes a plethora of unreleased Eric Prydz tracks and several other hand picked tracks that he has been playing out lately and been getting a great reaction from. Eric Prydz is touring the US now, which is a very rare occurrence so get your tickets now and go to a show near you. Tracklist for EPIC radio after the jump.

DJ-Set, Progressive House, Trance | Arty – Together We Are Ep #001 + Preview
Posted by Middy on June 26, 2012
Arty premiered his new weekly radio show on Saturday nights from 1am to 2am this past weekend and it may be early to say, but it looks like it could be one of the better weekly radio shows out there, or will quickly develop into one of them. The mix is better than most radio shows we are seeing from artists these days because not only does it keep the needless chatting down to a minimum and give us the most music possible, but it also has a different track list from the recycled track lists in mix shows we are seeing from prominent DJs. He plays a mixture of new and “old” tracks including upcoming tracks from Inpetto out July 2nd on Doorn Records and Redlight – Lost In Your Love, that have the chance to become very popular. The songs are just as good as your Beatport top 40, but they are just less known, showing that Arty not only is an incredible producer, but also has great taste and skill as a finder of quality music. Another indicator of the success of this radio show is the best pick in Rudimental’s DNB anthem “Feel The Love” that has been massively supported though it has not been released in the States, showing the completeness of the show. Tracklist for the show after the jump.
Another piece of big news coming out of Arty’s camp this week is that the ID (above) he premiered on New Years is going to be called “Together We Are” and will be released this summer. This song is incredible and will be one of the progressive anthem’s for the summer if it is released in time to get some serious festival work.
DJ-Set, Progressive House | Hook N Sling feat. Evermore – Surrender
Posted by Middy on June 25, 2012
Australia is really putting itself on the map with some top of the line house producers with Dirty South leading the way, but also with the likes of Hook N’ Sling, Nervo, Tommy Trash, Feenixpawl and Ivan Gough, TV Rock, Walden and more, Australia is turning into a haven of quality house music. Evermore’s emotional vocals lead an uplifting melody from Hook N Sling into a break of moving synth chords and quick percussion with a top line piano melody. Also included is a mix from Hook N Sling with some of the latest house tunes and the first preview of his remix of Michael Calfan – Mozaik. Tracklist after the jump.
DJ-Set, Preview, Videos | Pierce Fulton Chapter 3 Part 1 + Get Weird Ep # 001
Posted by Middy on June 15, 2012
Pierce Fulton takes us behind the scenes on his touring once again as we follow him during his first headlining show in NYC a couple weekends ago at Santos Party House. He shows us how different his sets are with a slew of personal edits, making his sets a new and unique experience. The video footage from the show previews a new remix of a Steve Aoki track that will be out on Ultra Records in the next couple months, so be on the look out for that. We also see a little bit of his home up in Vermont and that will be continued in the second episode where we will see more of the creative process in the studio.
Below is his monthly podcast “Get Weird” of Tiesto’s radio station on Sirius XM. It gives a bit of a change of pace from the usual podcasts we see starting with some tech and moving to more of a trance / light progressive mix. It is a mix that builds and builds like a proper dj set should. Tracklist after the jump.
