Albums | Walschlager’s ‘Wait’ Is Primed For After-hours
Posted by VMan on December 17, 2022
Detroit-based producer Walschlager is closing out the year strong with his new single ‘Wait’ on December 9th. Picking up where ‘Bounce’ left off, the upcoming track blurs genres and bpms for an epic anthem. The intro blends emotive soundscapes with an addictive vocal loop that serves as the track’s cornerstone. The first drop is club-ready house that’s rich in groove and set to take on any dance floor. The moving break slows the pace and sets the stage for the incredible switch-up in the back half. The 100 bpm drop gives the track a booty-shaking bounce that makes the vocals and basslines hit even harder. ‘Wait’ pushes the boundaries of house and midtempo and takes Walschlager’s style to new a level. This one is made for after-hours.
“‘Wait’ came together by honestly spending late nights out with friends and making good memories. Time stops for no one, and sometimes you just want time to wait.” – Walschlager
Albums | cln releases new LP, ‘Over, All Again’
Posted by VMan on December 16, 2022
Over the last few months Australian artist cln has released a grip of well crafted music — all of which to build hype and anticipation for second album ‘Over, All Again’. The 12-track release is filled with groovy tunes, all of which can be streamed now above. Enjoy!
“This album represents a real sonic shift for me. I don’t think it sounds anything like my previous work, and it is a big mix of sounds and genres. The album is also representative of the changes in my life over the last few years since Dawn Chorus was released.
One of the biggest changes between albums is my shift towards work in acoustic research. I spend a lot of my time trying to solve environmental and ecological problems using sounds and artificial intelligence. I mostly work on birds, and spend a lot of time in remote places deploying recorders. I hear some incredible soundscapes when I am out there, and they heavily inspire my work.
Throughout the album, you will hear scattered recordings of interesting sounds that I come across in my travel. I have some really cool stuff in there: Powerful Owl, Noisy Pitta, Marbled Frogmouth, Albert’s Lyrebird, and a bunch of other rare and interesting species. I have kept them quite subtle, so as not to overpower the songs, but I love that they are nestled in there. I think natural noises are about as beautiful as it gets, and they are my biggest inspirations for making music.
I have tried to make this album cohesive and unique. I have not tried to stick to any templates or genres. I have essentially just made music that I think sounds cool. If it resonates with others too, then that is a huge bonus and I find it a huge privilege that there are people taking time to listen to my work. I hope you enjoy it. Listen to it from start to finish if you can, preferably on a car ride to a beautiful unspoiled place. When you get there though, I encourage you to take out the headphones and enjoy the natural sounds instead.” ~ cln

Albums | K. Noble Shares New Album Painkillers
Posted by VMan on December 15, 2022
Karl Nobles, better known as K. Noble, is an artist on the rise from the southside of Chicago. He debuted on the music scene in 2020 and has dropped a series of well-received releases since then, including his debut album, Life is Pain, last year. The rising rapper is keen to continue his growing momentum and upward trajectory with the release of his new album, Painkillers, which is out now.
K. Noble is a huge fan of battle rap, which has allowed him to hone his skills on the mic, including learning different flow patterns, styles of delivery and freestyling. And all of this talent is evident throughout Painkillers, which is 12 tracks of straight-up authentic rap music that all hip-hop and rap enthusiasts will be able to appreciate. The album also features current single “Different Sh**”, which arrives alongside a compelling music video.
Speaking further on the new album, K. Noble says, “The inspiration for the album actually came from my second album, Life is Pain. Life is Pain was about enduring pain and overcoming overwhelming obstacles – during the entire recording process of that album, I was facing a serious health challenge. This new album, Painkillers, is about relieving pain and healing. It was during the recording process that the healing process began for me physically and mentally.
“One of the main things that makes this project stand out to me is the fact that it’s a concept album and there is a story and a theme behind it. I feel that one of the most creative things that an artist can do is tell a story with music, and with this project that’s what I was able to do.”
Albums | Connor Kauffman Cuts Through With “Bleed”
Posted by Juicebox on December 13, 2022
In the over played “pop punk” come back spearheaded by the likes of MGK and tiktok stars, it’s not often you’ll find someone doing something new and special in that world. Yet, Connor Kauffman is bringing a breathe of fresh air with his new sound. Connor’s toplines and vocals lean much more pop while the tracks feel grungy and rock leaning. It doesn’t have the generic pop punk melodies, but sits adjacent to the world living in his own little pocket. Music is not the only unique thing about Connor Kauffman, he also eats McDonalds 7 days a week, has a puppy golden retriever, and plays a role on the production side as well. The song is catchy and fresh so get ready to have this one on repeat.
