Albums | LAMIA Releases “Angel,” a Haunting Glimpse Into Upcoming Album Nighthawks

Posted by on November 14, 2025

Avant-garde artist and producer LAMIA returns with her powerful new single “Angel,” out now via AWAL and taken from her upcoming album Nighthawks (spring 2026). Blending ambient soundscapes, deconstructed-club energy, and post-trance atmospherics, “Angel” delivers a euphoric yet intimate listening experience that further cements LAMIA as a rising force in underground electronic music.

An MMus graduate of Goldsmiths and alum of Leeds Conservatoire and The BRIT School, LAMIA has built a reputation for boundary-pushing performances, with standout shows at Berghain, BBC Introducing Live Sessions, and the Berlin Music Video Awards, where BBC Introducing’s Alan Raw praised her as “one of the best live performers we have ever had.” Her work has also earned attention from CLASH, DMY, BBC Radio 1, Radio X, and KALTBLUT.

Written and produced during a difficult London winter, “Angel” became a beacon of hope for the artist. “Creating Angel was like a light that appeared and guided me through the darkness,” LAMIA says, citing inspiration from Mark Fisher’s concept of hauntology.

Following her acclaimed single “Cobra”—whose music video screened at the Berlin Music Video Awards and won Best Music Video at the Berlin Kiez Film Festival—“Angel” signals the next chapter in LAMIA’s cinematic, emotionally rich world. As anticipation builds for Nighthawks, she continues to redefine the edges of electronic music and performance in London and Berlin’s underground scenes.

From Newcastle in the North East England, Okan is a music producer, DJ, and songwriter whose DIY beginnings saw him crafting beats on a laptop and selling homemade mixtapes on UK streets to fund his first studio. DO SOMETHING

Albums | When Sacred Meets Techno: Padre Guilherme & Ebmath Release Veneremur Et Adoremus

Posted by on September 23, 2025

Few projects in electronic music dare to reframe tradition as boldly as Veneremur Et Adoremus, the debut EP from Lux Aeterna Records. A collaboration between Padre Guilherme, Italian duo Ebmath, vocalist Liliana Sofia Coelho, and the Pequenos Cantores de Amorim e de Laúndos children’s choir, the release fuses centuries-old sacred compositions with the immersive textures of melodic techno.

The EP opens with Ave Maria (Original Mix), a contemporary reimagining of Caccini’s timeless piece. The interplay between the children’s choir and Coelho’s hauntingly beautiful vocals is elevated by Ebmath’s sweeping synths and crisp rhythmic foundation. It is reverent, yet undeniably modern — a hymn for both sanctuaries and festival mainstages.

The second track, Adoramus (Original Mix), deepens this duality. Chant-like vocals weave into pulsing percussion and hypnotic melodic layers, creating a soundscape that feels equal parts meditative and celebratory. It embodies Padre Guilherme’s unique mission: to bridge the divide between spiritual transcendence and collective euphoria.

Following standout performances at Afterlife Ibiza, Zamna Festival, and even beneath Rio’s Cristo Redentor, Padre Guilherme continues to redefine what electronic music can symbolize. Veneremur Et Adoremus is not just an EP — it is an invitation to reimagine faith, tradition, and the dancefloor as one unified space.

Albums | “Olivia“ by Scrimshaw Porn is a Shimmering Soundscape of Vulnerability

Posted by on September 3, 2025

Scrimshaw Porn, the moniker of Nick Helgesen, has returned with “Olivia,” a track that feels equal parts confessional and dreamlike. Blending elements of indie-pop with soft pulses of electronica, Helgesen creates a surreal soundscape where emotion takes center stage.

The track’s strength lies in its vulnerability. Inspired by the painful realization of shifting love and evolving identity within a relationship, “Olivia” doesn’t shy away from discomfort—it embraces it. The shimmering production layers reflect the surreal haze of heartbreak, while Helgesen’s introspective lyricism grounds the song in something achingly human. It’s a balance between fragility and boldness that leaves listeners suspended between empathy and awe.

“Olivia” cements Scrimshaw Porn as an artist unafraid to push beyond convention, delivering music that is as emotionally piercing as it is sonically adventurous.

Albums | DLG. Croons on “I Just Want You”

Posted by on September 1, 2025

With “I Just Want You”, indie artist DLG. delivers his most vulnerable track yet. Following the success of “Rich Man” and “Aperol,” this third single from his upcoming debut album strips away any pretense, leaning fully into a raw, indie-driven sound. The song swells with cinematic energy, his soulful vocals carrying the ache of heartbreak against sweeping, anthemic production. DLG. himself describes it as “running through the airport to catch her before she gets on that flight”—a desperate, all-consuming kind of love and loss. Already boasting 50 million streams and a rapidly growing fanbase, the Austin-born, LA-based artist proves once again why he’s one of indie music’s most compelling new voices.
