Last week, Matt Medved, Billboard Dance editor-in-chief and the DJ / producer, Sicarii, hosted a special “AMA” (Ask Me Anything) on Reddit’s r/electronicmusic subreddit, where he was able to share his experiences as a dance music journalist and building Billboard Dance into the respected publication it is today. Medved began as a Berlin-based freelancer in 2014, but quickly established himself as one of Billboard Dance’s most important assets before joining the Billboard team for good in March of 2015. Since then, he has penned pieces with an eye towards ending the fight between the underground and the mainstream once and for all, in addition to trying to help keep cell phones in your pocket and off the dance floor. In addition to Medved’s work with Billboard, he recently unveiled his DJ / producer persona, Sicarii – and he’s already played Billboard’s Hot 100 Festival and remixed Maroon 5’s “Sugar.”
On his AMA, Matt Medved answered questions on a plethora of topics ranging from the role of ghost producers in dance music, to his favorite genre at the moment, to his favorite artist to see live. It’s not often that casual fans get a first-hand look at the experiences of someone as integrated in the scene as Matt Medved, so we’ve put together a list of our favorite moments from his AMA below the jump. Kicking off 2016 with 160bpm Urban Dance joint. Originally written for a collaboration between Joyryde & Shaquille O’neal, a Rick Ross vocal was used in place, SHAQ sent the record to his homie Ross who loved the record. The decision was made to release it with its native Rick Ross feature. That ‘Rosé Swurve’ vibe.

New York native, Aiden Jude wasted no time following up his last single with what we’d like to call his best work to date. “All In” brings back the best elements of progressive house music with a lead that takes you on an refreshing uplifting melodic journey. Celia Babibi reminds us of early Kaskade days featuring the amazing Hayley. Needless to say if Aiden keep these types of productions coming our way, he’ll have a bright future ahead.
Albums, Hip-Hop, RnB | Dylan Reese’s Debut Project ‘SILK’ is a MUST Listen For R&B Fans

For the last few months you may have caught some of Dylan’s creative Medleys on FNT and more recently the singles off his debut project SILK. The project comes after two years of curating his sound and working around the clock to better position himself in the industry.
When we checked in with Dylan, the Massachusetts native explained music is all he does; “I don’t drink, I don’t smoke, I don’t go out and party. I do music.” When he isn’t working on his own music he is engineering for locals out of Massachusetts and helping other’s get to where they want to get in their careers.
SILK is truly a complete project; when listening to the project all the way through each song flows into the next perfectly with the outros playing perfectly in to the intro of the next song. There are some serious stand out tracks on this project such as Flex On U featuring Futuristic, which is more of a hip hop banger, but if you want to slow it down throw it on Little Things or Ironic.
