Albums | Chaz Cardigan Releases Futuristic Visual For “Everything’s Wrong”
Posted by VMan on August 2, 2020
As the top comment states “Everything’s wrong but not this video”, and I would have to agree. 2020 has sucked big time, but this song and visual is beautifully trippy. It’s like watching The Matrix on acid and I would expect nothing less from the Nashville native, Chaz Cardigan. The Loud Robot / Capitol Records signee keeps pushing the envelope on his releases while always bridging the gap between Pop and Indie Rock. Check out a quote from Chaz on the song below and watch his video for “Everything’s Wrong” above now!
“‘Everything’s Wrong’ is about not letting a breakdown keep you broken down. There’s liberation in feeling low because things can only get better,” explains Chaz Cardigan. “On ‘Not OK!’ and ‘S.O.S.’ I’ve been talking about repeating cycles and wanting to break them. ‘Everything’s Wrong’ is what it feels like for a cycle to actually break – to say ‘okay, on to the next thing!’ It’s me saying, ‘I accept the chaos, I accept that everything is always changing. I’m going to ride the dragon and change with everything around me.’”
Albums | Seanyy’s “Be Like That” A Must-Hear For Fans Of Upbeat House
Posted by VMan on August 2, 2020
Uncommonly does a time come where a young, rising producer clearly captures both the genre he’s “going for” paralleled with a clear angle or “signature sound” built in. Yet, “Be Like That,” released by Seanyy, communicates this message and so much more in what is a just-over 3-minute future house ride well worth the experience.
Here some comments Seanyy shared behind the track
“There’s actually a cool story behind ‘Be Like That.’
– SEANYY
It originally started out as a remix for a competition…I was in a time crunch to finish it as I was heading to Air Assault school in a week… [it] didn’t end up winning the contest, which was a shame, but I remember the drive home from Grafenwoer as I was blasting the finished tune on repeat — just loving the final result.
I always and will forever correlate this track to those brutal two weeks I endured at Air Assault. Fast forward almost two years: I revisit the project and turn it into an original. I got so much positive feedback from the original remix it just felt shameful to not officially release it. That’s how ‘Be Like That’ was born”
Sean Danielczyk, raised North of Baltimore, seemingly gravitated toward music as he grew up. Having limited access to the internet, he’d download and bring home YouTube videos to fill that void of info in his life at the time. This, among other factors, exposed him to dance music, the instrumentation/tools behind it, as well as the lifestyle.
Seanyy was hooked and the music directive in his life took over more than ever before.
Seanyy’s debut EP is set to drop this year, with plenty more action sure to come, click through the Spotify link above to hear more from him.
Albums | DAHL Is Back on “After Ours”
Posted by VMan on July 14, 2020
Before he was collaborating on EDM hits with Demi Lovato and Fetty Wap, Trevor Dahl was making music on his own terms. With the rapid rise of Cheat Codes with bandmates Kevin Ford and Matthew Russell, the trio has also made it a priority to focus on their own creative endeavors. Going by his surname “DAHL” this is a project to parallel Cheat Codes, but returning to his solo roots. With a hybrid of influencers from electropop acts like Bazzi and Lauv, alongside the lyricism of John Mayer, Dahl reveals his talent for being a jack of all trades; he wrote and produced all of his music. His latest release to date “After Ours” is a fresh blend of Pop and Electronica that is radio ready and will be stuck in your head without a doubt! Tune in above now.
Albums | WEIRDO Gets Real via “FAKIN'”
Posted by VMan on July 13, 2020
This recently released dark pop single “FAKIN'” by WEIRDO is a catchy, ironic, simple yet rather cut-deep track that eludes prowess and sincerity throughout. The moody jam is the highlight track of my week without a doubt. With early support on prior releases from the lieks of BBC Radio 1, Amazing Radio, a slot in Spotify’s Fresh Finds: Pop playlist, and press sites such as Vice, Complex, EARMILK and others, WEIRDO is off to a strong start. Check out a quote on the single below and stream the new tune above now! “Fakin’ is a song I wrote about the world we live in, the people that surround us and the complexities of the modern age. I spent way too much time with and around materialistic people who were in denial of it and once I spent some time alone in thinking mode, I realised that honesty seems a thing of the past for many people nowadays…”
Albums | GFTD Releases Latest Single led by iNTeLL
Posted by VMan on July 13, 2020
GFTD’s latest release, “Legacy Drip”, is an in-your-face reminder of just how serious the Staten Island duo truly is. Acknowledging their Hip-Hop pedigree and oozing with confidence, the Wu-Tang progenies further establish their status as Hip-Hop royalty on this bouncy and futuristic track.
iNTeLL takes center stage, demanding constant attention and offering break-neck bars over distorted keys and hard hitting 808s. Combining humor and aggression, “Legacy Drip” is a candid representation of the up-and-coming emcee’s drive, aspirations, and effortless swagger. That being said, this track offers a more authentic insight into the young rapper’s mind than ever before, opening the door to a limitless stockpile of energy and creativity.
This reminiscent track brings with it futuristic undertones which present iNTeLL as a new link between the glory-days of the New York scene and the future. The verses are broken up by a hard-hitting chorus that is grounded in the 808 baseline and irregular flows distinguish each verse as unique in both style and sentiment. He jumps back and forth between compelling statements of self-confidence and clever anecdotes that put the up-and-comer’s creativity on full display. Conclusively, “Legacy Drip” doesn’t bank on the GFTD’s Wu-Tang legacy to be compelling but rather implements it as a reminder of their limitless potential.
